The grim reaper

Chapter 30 Alpha Erubas "I'm sorry, Sir," I raise my gaze to see that it's the same dude that was hanging out with Sophie at the canteen the other day. Memories of that day flood my mind, the thought of him smiling at her that day makes me so pissed that I feel like roasting him alive here, but I try to control myself. How dare he flirt with our mate? Does he want to die? "Hmm," I nod my head and turn to enter the office, but I stop on my track when I spot something familiar at the back of his neck as he walks away. It's a tattoo I've seen somewhere before, but the memories of it are vague. My wolf whimper inside me at the thought of the tattoo, and I know that this is not just a coincidence. There has to be something about that dude. "Sir, are you here for the files?" The HR's voice pulls my attention, and I turn my gaze to look at her standing in front of me. I quickly turn my gaze to check out the person, but he already left. "Who was that?" I ask her after I glance in the direction again, and she pulls a puzzled look. "Who?" She blinks her eyes rapidly as she stares at me as if I'm fooling around. "The dude that just walked out of the office," I reply to her, and she slowly shakes her head. "We are only five here, and all of us are here. No one left the office," She turns her gaze to glance inside the office where four other employees are sitting behind their desktops. "Huh?" I blink my eyes at her confusingly. "Go after him! He is up to something!" My subconscious mind screams at me, and that is all it takes me to pick my race, ignoring the calls from the lady. My heart beats rapidly against my chest as I run down the hallway as if someone is chasing me. He couldn't have gone far, right? How come I can't find him? Suddenly, the light went off, and darkness looms in the company like it's in the night. My heart beats rapidly against my chest as I stop abruptly on my track, looking around the dark place, the presence of a dangerous creature hovering around the place. There was never a power outage in the company for the past years since it has been working, which only means that there is a problem here. "What is going on?" I whisper as I look around, and just then, the thought of Sophie hits me hard. "Sophie!" I whisper before I pick race, rushing to the office to check if she's fine, but I collide with someone, and I stagger back. A Ray of light emits from nowhere, and standing in front of me is the creature I have never dreamt of seeing in my entire life. It's Casimir, the grim reaper. Casimir is the strongest grim reaper that has ever existed, and the one that was always sent to strong werewolves, particularly Alphas. Yes, they are also the agent of doom, and all the time that he visited me, I always ended up with one bad luck or the other. He finally turns to face me, and I fill shivers running down my spine. My wolf is even rendered powerless in front of him, who am I not to? "Are you surprised to see me, Erubas?" His voice is the most dangerous I've ever heard, and the sound of it makes me quiver in fear. I may be powerful and fearless, but all those are just like ashes in the presence of Casimir. "Wh... why are you here?" I stutter as I step back fearfully, and he rolls his eyes. Have I told you what the grim reaper looks like? Well, unlike every other grim reapers that looks like monsters, this one looks just like a human, an innocent one at that. He is the most handsome man I have ever seen, and trust me, you can never tell his identity from the way he looks. "Why are you asking me that when you know why?" He asks sarcastically as he tucks his hands inside his pockets, the tip of his hand tattoo visible at the back of his palms. "The grim reaper doesn't just visit people for fun... At least, not Casimir," He slowly shakes his head, and I gulp down nothing as I feel my body go numb. My blood went cold, and beads of sweat form on my forehead. The first time he visited was the day my father died, and it was disastrous. Since then, he had always visited me whenever something bad was about to happen to me, but it was confusing how he never showed up during the two times that I lost my mates. "I am in a good mood today, so make a wish," He suddenly smiles at me, but his smile looks even scary, let alone his frown. At the moment, too many wishes flood my mind, but I don't even know what to wish for. I don't know if I should wish for the curse to be broken, be with my mate, or save my Pack from the disaster that would come in the future. "Why...why would the grim reaper ask me to make a wish? I...I don't trust you," I reply to him, and he shrugs. "Because I'm in a good mood today. Who knows, I may just make your sweet dreams come true," He replies to me, and I sigh briefly as I try to calm myself down. "The curse... I want it broken," I utter after thinking about it thoroughly, and dead silence creeps in, scaring the gut out of me. He stares at me wordlessly with a look on his face that I do not know what it means. "There is a price to pay for it, Erubas. Are you ready to do it?" I watch as the corner of his lips slowly twitches up into a smirk, and I know that I just got myself into trouble...
