Went out with my boss

Chapter 12 Sophie POV I made sure I look great today since I'll be going out with my boss later. Although I have no idea where he'll be taking me yet, but I made sure I dressed exclusively today so I can stand out later. "Is your boss going to introduce you to his family? What's with that dress?" Zara had asked me before I left for the office in the morning, but I only rolled my eyes at her. I have been in the office for quite some minutes now, but he's not yet here. Feeling insecure about my dress, I decided to go check myself out in the restroom, maybe if there's anything I should fix in my body before he comes to the office. Returning to my office a few minutes later, I find him already sitting behind his desk in his company, and I sigh disappointedly. I wanted him to see how beautiful I look in the dress, and maybe getting a compliment or two from him would assure me that I didn't waste my time. I sigh briefly as I slump on my chair and resume work reluctantly. Barely five minutes later, the office phone suddenly starts ringing, and my heart skips a beat when I answer the call, and his voice came on. "Bring the file for yesterday to my office," He says, and the call drops immediately. With my heart wavering in excitement, I stand up and get the file, before| I head to his office, and the look on his face as soon as I step in makes me feel satisfied. "Good morning, Sir. I'm sorry, I went to the restroom when you came in," I apologize to him, and he only nods his head as he fixes his gaze on the screen of his desktop. Does he not find me appealing enough? "It's fine. You may leave now," He replies to me bluntly, and I sigh disappointedly. "Uhm... Ok, Sir," I turn to leave, but stop and turn to face him, and this time, I find him staring at me with that desirable look on his face. He quickly turns his gaze as soon as I caught him, and I blush hard. I didn't know he was stealing glances at me. "Thanks for yesterday. About the ride," I say to him, and he nods his head. "It's fine. And by the way, you look pretty in that," He finally says the words I've been waiting for, and I feel my head swollen and about to explode in excitement. "Huh?" I raise my eyebrows, pretending not to hear what he said. "I said you're gorgeous," I bet he cracks as he said those words to me, and turns his gaze away immediately. "Thank you," I smile at him excitedly before I finally stride out of his office, closing the door gently behind me. The rest of the day was spent with me working nonstop, and I feel like fainting. At lunchtime, I didn't go out to have lunch since I was so busy with work, so I only ordered a snack which was delivered to me immediately. My intestines feel like they are twisted right now because I'm famished. I'm finding it difficult to breathe comfortably. That is what hunger does to me, which is why I never like going hungry, no matter what happens. It's finally closing time, and here I am, waiting for him to come out of his office so we can go wherever he is planning for us to go. I so much want to go home and have something to eat, but I also want to hang out with my perfect boss. "You said that he's an introverted ghost. How is he perfect?" My subconscious mind reminds me, and I roll my eyes as I switch the desktop off. I just pray we go to a restaurant so I can quench this hunger quickly. The door finally opens, and he walks out elegantly, looking as stunning as always. Everything about this young man is just so perfect. "Should we go now?" He asks after he glances at his wristwatch, and I quickly nod my head. We both stride out of the office with him leading the way, and once we arrive at the parking lot where his fine car was parked, we hop in, and the drive to the place I don't know began. "Where do you want us to go? Bar, restaurant, or..." "Restaurant, please," I cut him off before he can finish listing out the names of the places. "Are you that hungry?" He glances at me and asks. "Yes, I'm famished," I reply to him, and he slowly nods his head. "Didn't you have lunch?" He inquires. "No, I didn't. I got so busy with work that I didn't have time to go out for lunch," I reply to him, and he scoffs. "You didn't have to do that. Your health should always come first before anything else, so why did you skip your meal for work?" He asks with a hint of care in his voice, which I'm sure it's not just me overthinking right now. "Nothing. I had to finish the project for the presentation since it's going to air first thing tomorrow morning," I explain to him. I've been working on that project for the past five days, and I was finally able to round it up today. "Even at that, you shouldn't still have starved yourself. What if you had collapsed while working?" He asks, and I bite my bottom lip as I look out of the window. I like the fact that he cares so much about me to the point of getting worried about me. This is a good sign. "I will be careful next time, Sir," I reply to him, and he hums. An awkward silence sets in as he drives down the road, and I glance at him with many questions running through my mind. "If you have any questions, you're free to ask me. Don't look at me like that," His voice breaks into my thoughts, and I sigh briefly. Since he asked me to, I won't hesitate to. "So, you said you live alone... What about your girlfriend? Like doesn't she come to spend time with you once in a while?" I ask him, because why not? He just told me that I'm free to ask him any question, and I'm not planning to refrain from my curiosity. "I don't have one," He replies to me casually, and I pull a puzzled look. He must be pulling my legs right now. "How am I supposed to believe that? I mean, you aren't really expecting me to believe you, are you?" I ask him, puzzled, and he just shrugs. "I don't do..." He pauses and sighs briefly. "I haven't had a girlfriend in a long time now," He replies to me, and I slowly nod my head. "When are you going to have one?" I ask him curiously, and he scoffs. "Well, I may have one tonight," He replies to me, glancing at me this time, and I bet the only thing I see in his eyes is confusion. "Excuse me?" I blink my eyes rapidly as many questions flood my mind. Is he going to introduce me to his girlfriend there? This is crazy. "You should stop getting overly curious, Sophie. It's not a nice thing to do," He utters, and I slowly nod my head before I turn my gaze away. "Is he going to introduce me to his girlfriend?" That is the only question that lingers on my mind as he drives us toward the restaurant, but there's no way I would find out about it until we get there, right?
