Annoying Zara

Chapter 11 Sophie POV My heart wavers in excitement as my boss drives me down the road. I keep glancing at him occasionally, and I can't help admiring his perfection. Unlike when I just started working here, he has really changed from being a ghost-like and introverted boss to a fun person, even though he talks less. "Why do you live alone? Aren't you married?" I ask him out of the blue as a result of my curiosity, and he glances at me. I mean, he's old enough to be married, and for him to tell me that he lives alone is kind of questionable. "No, I'm not married. Why do you ask?" He replies to me casually, and I smile. For some unknown reason, I feel excited about his answer. Yes, I have a crush on him, but that doesn't mean that I should be happy that he's not yet married, right? "Nothing," I shake my head, and he nods his head. The rest of the drive to my apartment was filled with silence, and we finally arrive after about twenty minutes of driving. "Thanks for the ride, Sir," I say to him once I hop out of his car, and he nods his head before he drives away wordlessly. I sigh briefly, turning to go to my apartment, but I stop on my track when I find Zara leaning against the wall with her hands crossed on her chest, as she stares at me with a smirk lingering on her face. Is she stalking me now? "Are you still going to tell me that there's nothing going on between you and that young man? This is the second time he's coming to drop you off after work, and you wouldn't stop talking about him. Are you the one crushing on him, or is he the one?" She asks me as I walk toward her, but I just roll my eyes. "What every responsible people does is welcome their friends from work nicely, and not the other way round. Are you stalking me now, Zara?" I smirk at her, and she scoffs. "Although I'm jobless for now, but trust me, I'd rather spend my time picking grains of rice one after the other, than stalk you. Because why should I?" She scoffs as she rolls her eyes. "You are crazy, Zara," I shake my head before I push the door open and walk inside the house. I throw myself on the bed as soon as I walk inside the room later. I meet everywhere already tidied up, and I smile excitedly. Unlike the lazy me that doesn't even care about the cleanliness of my room, for as long as I see food to eat, Zara is different. She values hygiene so much, and there's no way you would enter the room she lives in, and see a piece of dirt on the floor or anywhere in the room. At least, that is the only thing she knows how to do right, so it should compliment her sharp tongue. "I made your favorite. Why don't you go to the bathroom, shower, and come back to have something to eat, huh?" She cups her cheeks in her palms as she walks inside the room, smiling at me creepily. She's up to something now, and I know it. "What do you want now, Zara?" I whine as I remove my heels and throw them across the room. "You know I won't be able to sleep if I don't hear the full gist. Come on, tell me everything going on between you and your boss, and don't you dare leave any piece of information out of it," She scurries over to me, and climbs behind me on the bed. "Let me massage you, while you tell me everything," She offers before she starts massaging me. She always knows how to get me. "I didn't want to tell you, but I will since you're giving me the best massage now..." I pause and moan softly as I throw my head back, enjoying her hands on my shoulders. She's good at this. "That's my sweetheart," She utters, and I giggle softly at the thought of Mr. Xander. "Well, I have a crush on the man..." "I know, and that is not what I'm asking. Did he ask you out already?" She asks as she cuts me off, and I roll my eyes. "Not yet. He asked us to take a walk tomorrow. You know, when I started working with him, he was this introverted person that I thought I was going to eventually get depressed around him, but he doesn't seem bad after all," I blush hard as I blurt out, and I hear her scoff. Nothing good ever comes out of her mouth, so I'm sure she's not going to say something nice to me. "Are you thinking he's going to ask you out now?" She scoffs, and I turn to glare at her. "Don't give me that look. You are not his type and don't ever say yes to him if he ever asks you out. He's just going to hurt your feeling and take advantage of your feeling," She smirks at me, and I huff angrily. I know she's just being sarcastic, but it's getting me pissed. "What's wrong with me? Am I not pretty enough?" I snap at her angrily as I spring up to my feet, and she bursts into laughter. "Yeah! I got you. That's the look I want to see, and I got it. Mission accomplished tonight," She giggles as she rolls on the bed. How can she be this childish? She always likes getting on my nerves when she sees that I'm getting overly excited about something. "You are just crazy, Zara," I hiss loudly before I storm into the bathroom and slam the door hard behind me. "Remember you're going to fix the door with your money if you break it," She reminds me, and I scoff as I run my fingers through my hair. 'I was thinking if we can go out after work' his words ring in my head as I wash my face, and I stop to blush. It has always been my dream to be with a wealthy man, since life hasn't been fair to me financially, and I think this is my chance. I will do everything to make him like me, that is if he hasn't fallen head over heels for me yet. "Are you planning to sleep there, Sophie?" Zara yells from inside the room, and I roll my eyes. I finally leave to join her after I spend another five minutes in the bathroom...
