Chapter 36 Zara POV The meeting with the editor went well, and my book will be published along with my other works, and I'm so happy. After being rejected by many platforms, I'm finally going to be a certified published author. 'Congratulations, Miss Zara, you are welcome to publish more of your work with us, and we are looking forward to partnering with you' I giggle excitedly as I walk toward the exit door. I have never been so excited all my life. It was the first step of my writing career, so why not? "Whoa! What a great thing to start the week with," I chuckle softly as I cup my cheeks in my palms, blushing hard. The thought of being a published author really hits differently, and I can't wait to write more books I've gotten ideas for. Stepping out of the exit door, I collided with someone, and I fall flat on my butt, letting out a loud whimper. Yes, I am known for exaggerating, but trust me, I feel pain in my butt. "Oh, I'm sorry, Miss. Are you ok?" A deep masculine voice sounds through my ears, and I raise my gaze to snap at whoever made me fall, but my heart freezes in my chest at the sight of those pair of blue eyes, staring down at me while his beautiful hand is held out to help me up. My mouth drops open as I stare at the handsome man towering over me, blinking his beautiful and charming eyes, and for seconds, I feel lost staring at him. He has thick black hair clinging to his head with some strands on his face, his lips are pink and small, and they look kissable, his nose is pointed, and his skin screams wealth. The calm aura that surrounds this man is unarguably strange, but that is not something to think about for now. Did I just find a man? Is this one of the scenes in my books where the male lead and the female lead met accidentally? "Miss?" He finally waves his hand on my face, and I gulp down nothing nervously as I slowly bite my bottom lip. I feel my heart which has been frozen seconds ago, beating rapidly and thumping hard against my chest. "Are you ok?" He asks for the umpteenth time before I finally come back to my sense, and I quickly take his hand as he helps me up to my feet, and damn! His hand is so freaking soft. Does he have any work he does, because how can his hand be this soft? "Are you ok, Miss? I hope you're not hurt," He asks, and I slowly shake my head. "No... I'm fine," I reply to him while blushing like a teen that just had her crush confess to her. f**k! This man is so cute, and there is nothing you would tell me that will change my mind from approaching him. "Hmm. You should look where you are going next time. You almost injured yourself," He utters, and I nod my head as I beam with smiles, but heck! He is still keeping a straight face. Now that he is standing erect in front of me, giving me a view of what he looks like, he has the perfect body shape of a model. He is about 6'2 ft tall, and guess what! He is just my perfect style. "I'm sorry about that," I apologize to him, and he hums as he nods his head. "Bye," He finally walks past me, and I turn swiftly to find him walking away. "Excuse me, Mr..." I hurry over to him, and he stops to look at me. "Is there any problem?" The way he asks should make me feel embarrassed, but f**k embarrassment for now, and let's go for what we want, sweetheart. "No, there's none. Uhm... My name is Zara, what about you?" I ask him, and he stares at me blankly for seconds, before he tucks his hands inside his pockets. "Noah is the name," He replies to me after a few seconds of silence, and I slowly nod my head. "You have such a cute name. By the way, you are cute," I wink at him, and he shrugs. "Thank you," He replies to me casually before he turns to leave. For goodness sake! Why the heck is he in such a hurry? "Uhm... I'm sorry about what happened there... I wasn't paying attention when I was walking, and I bashed into you. I want to make it up to you... Why don't I take you out, huh?" This is wrong to ask someone out on a date at the first meeting, but I can't help it. "Sorry, but I don't think that will be possible. I have things to do," He replies to me before he turns to leave, but I block his way. "Uhm... It's fine if you are not free today, tomorrow, or next. We can schedule a day for it. Can I have your card? I will call you, and set the date at your convenience time," How I dare to smile at him knowing that I'm crossing my boundary right now is really crazy, but I always love going for what I want. "Sure. Here is my card," I guess he must've been frustrated by my constant talking since he made a face before he hands me his card. "Thank you so much, Noah. I will call you later," I wave at him as I watch him walk away, but he didn't even stop to look at me. "Wow! That was crazy," I mumble before I turn and finally walk out of the building, heading to the roadside to get a cab to take me home. After standing at the roadside for what seemed like forever, I finally got a cab that drive me home. I just caught a jackpot today, and I can't just wait to get home and tell the tale of this epic meeting with my prince charming, to Sophie. I'm sure she would be excited to know that I experienced what I write in my novels. "What title should I give to this story of mine?" I mumble as I cup my cheeks in my palm, giggling afterward. "Are you ok, Miss?" Forgetting that I'm still in the cab until the cabby glances at me through the visor with a look on his face that asks 'are you sure you are not sick in the head?' "Yes, I'm fine," I quickly comport myself before he thinks that I must've lost my mind. The rest of the drive to our apartment was just filled with me trying so hard not to scream out of excitement, and we finally arrived after a few minutes. "Thank you," I say to the cabby once I step out of his cab and pay him. Finally, I turn and walk into the house, giggling loudly and excitedly. "Guess what, Sophie..." My voice trails off as I walk into the living room and find Sophie sitting on the chair with a deep frown on her face. "Are you ok?" I ask her as I walk over to sit beside her. "It's Ariana... She harassed me," She sighs deeply as she tilts her head to look at me, and I pull a puzzled look. "Ariana? Who is that?" I ask her. "The same Ariana you know. Our college mate. She confronted me and told me to stay away from her boyfriend, Jason. Is she kidding me? I'm so pissed right now, Zara," She utters and groans afterward. "Ariana? She's dating Jason? Is that dude blind or was he hypnotized? Why Ariana of all people?" I spit out, because why not. "That's not my problem, Zara. Why would she say such trash to me? She even dared to threaten me, is she out of her mind?" She scoffs angrily, and I sigh. "Don't worry, I'm going to deal with that b***h when I lay my hands on her. She will regret it," I grit my teeth angrily. How dare she say nonsense to my bestie? Is she mad?
