Chapter 10

Jason was in charge of some case due to which he got really busy when he reached in the capital city. He was not able to call Sarah or his mother after first day he called. He was worried for few things. He was not worried about anything in his home. He kept some people around his house to keep an eye on Sarah. He knew she went to the cliff. He didn’t want to take any risk. He was sitting in his designated office thinking about Sarah. He knew that she is in office right now. He was feeling somewhat better that atleast she is not taking any interest in the Roy’s case anymore but he didn’t want to keep any space for doubt as well.

“Roy you keep making problems for me. I don’t know why I can get rid of you completely.” Jason thought to himself

Knock knock. “May I come in Sir?” A young man in police uniform was standing at the door of the office having couple of files in his hands.

“Yes. Come in.” Jason had to come out of his thoughts.

“Sir, here are the files you asked for.” The young police officer handed over the files to Jason. His eyes were sparkling. After all he was meeting his ideal Police officer who was so capable and talented.

“Did you check what I told you?” Jason took the files and asked him

“No Sir. I was not able to get any information.” He replied

“I expected that.” Jason gave him an angry look

“I am sorry sir.” The young man panicked

“I want information, not sorry.” Jason sighed.

Jason was angry. He vent his anger on young policeman. He realized but it was already late and young policeman already left the office. Jason went after him.

Damian!!!! Jason called his name

Damian was a new graduate and got first position in academy. He was gold medalist and a talented young man. He always wanted to follow Jason because in academy every teacher had his name on their tongue. Jason always got positions and performed extra ordinary in academy. He did many achievements in police force.

“I am sorry I shouted.” Jason apologized for his behavior.

“Sir you don’t have to apologize, it’s my mistake too. I was incapable of doing anything. But I assure you that I won’t disappoint you.”

“Good” Jason felt relieved. He didn’t want loose his good image infront of his juniors. He felt happy that his juniors respected him.

In office Sarah had so much work to do that was piled up during her days off. Everyone welcomed her back. She covers entertainment news so it was easy to get things sorted because these days everything in entertainment circle was way more calm.

Finally you’re here. Her colleague Maria pinched her cheek and gave her cup of coffee.

Thank you. I needed it the most. Sarah happily took the cup. It would be lie if she say she is not tired. She was hell tired.

I have done many of your tasks so don’t worry about the interviews we scheduled. Maria said while passing her few files.

Really? Thanks girl. You saved me from dyeing today. She said and took a sip of coffee.

How are you feeling now? Your fiancé personally came here to tell the boss that you are unwell. You normally don’t get sick so we were so much worried about you. Maria said with concern.

Thank you for worrying about me. I just got cold and unfortunately it got worst. Sarah said with a smile. Sarah was with Roy, this detail was skipped from everywhere. Jason deliberately removed her name from the case. That’s why no one knew in her office that she was not ill.

Take care of you ok? Maria tapped her shoulder and got up from her chair

Obviously!!!! I don’t want to get sick again. Sarah pouted and both girls laughed.

Oops I forgot I had a meeting. Maria got up from her chair when she saw her watch.

 Then you should leave. Sarah said

Ummhmm... See you later. Maria said and left

Sarah took another sip of coffee and thought what to do next.

When she completed all the necessary work, she realized it was already 5:30.

God, I am late. She’s going to kill me for sure. Sarah looked at her watch. Sarah took her bag and was about to leave and rcvd the call from director. The director wanted to discuss something with her. She sighed and took out her mobile phone from her bag and made a call to Jenny.

Hello. Jenny picked up

“Jenny actually I’ll be late. Is it okay for you?” Sarah asked hesitantly

“What happened?” Jenny asked with confusion

“The director has called me and he needs to discuss something with me. I am sure he’ll take atleast an hour.” Sarah explained

“Then it can’t be helped, we’ll meet an hour later.” Jenny sighed

“Okay. Thanks.” Sarah felt relieved

“Let me know when you’ll get free. I’ll pick you. I was on my way there but now I’ll come to your office to make sure that old hag doesn’t take more than hour.” Jenny replied with annoyance

“Sure. As you wish Ma’am.” Sarah smiled. She knew Jenny hate these kind of situations. She want everything on time. “See you.” Sarah hang up

After almost 45 minutes, she left the director’s office. She hurried and called Jenny after coming to her desk. She took her belongings while dialing Jenny’s number.

“Hey. I am in lobby.” Jenny spoke after picking up

“Okay. I am coming.” Sarah replied and hung

When she entered in the lobby, she saw Jenny sitting on the sofa at the corner. She saw Sarah and got up.

“Finally you’re free.” Jenny said in sarcastic tone

“Yes Ma’am. So now don’t be angry anymore.” Sarah said

“Let’s go.” Jenny said
