Year 2124 Star Phoenix kingdom, Elysium city. In a dimly lit, worn-out room, a 17-year-old boy 'Allen' stirred from his modest bed. Our protagonist, Allen, upon standing he hastily prepared for school, knowing today marked the annual system awakening ceremony. A ceremony which occurs on a yearly basis which involved the manifestation of soul power in the form of systems. In the world of Elysium, the only thing that matters is your system rank, thereby determining one's level of importance. Systems have ranks ranging from iron, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, all the way to Mystic rank, but there have been rumors that there was another rank above the Mystic. God rank, but up to this moment no one has been recorded to have awakened it. It all began around a 100 years ago when dimensional cracks began to appear all around the world, at first people didn't think of it as something dangerous, until after seven days later, when the dimensional cracks now known as dungeon, began to release monsters from within it. The world was plunged into chaos as monsters of all sorts began to attack every human in sight, cities destroyed, countries on fire. Just when humanity began to loose hope, superpowered humans began to emerge, it turned out that they had come into contact with awakening crystals that descended from the heavens. This crystals allowed them to manifest and awaken their soul power 'in form of systems', It granted special abilities with the use of mana, energy eminating from the dimensional cracks, their soul powers got stronger as they killed and eradicated monsters. But unable to handle the endless wave of monsters, cities were built with great walls and barriers surrounding them, the world was finally brought to order, the superpowered human had developed a name for themselves, 'Systemholders.' Also, it has been 16 years since he was transmitted to this world, reborn into the body of a one year old baby. At first he was joyous and happy about his transmigration as he had been reborn in a rich family, but at the age of 15 his life suddenly changed as everything turned into chaos following his parents death. After this, his life took a 180-degree turn. His parents' properties were confiscated for unknown reasons, leaving him broke and almost penniless. He had to survive on his savings and a part-time job. His so-called girlfriend, Emma, broke up with him the following week, for reasons yet to be known. Despite all this, he didn't give up and continued to work hard, getting himself a part-time job and a cheap apartment. He also continued to attend the academy, as his tuition had been paid in advance. But his status dropped from that of a rich young master to that of a low level bumpkin. Pretty fast, all his friends began to abandon and ignore him, while only Jackie, his chubby friend, stayed true to him. After fully waking up, he quickly had his bath and did all the necessary stuff. He puts on his school uniform of black trousers and a white shirt with a black lining and a Phoenix logo on the left chest area, representing the Tempest Phoenix Academy. Shortly after, he walked out the door, he met with Jackie, the chubby friend of his. "Hey Jackie, what's up, Allen?" They exchanged greetings and began to walk to school together. After 10 minutes, they arrived at the entrance, and he once again looked at the intricate design of the academy. Despite how advanced the world had become, the academy still went with the medieval-era-looking type of building. The academy itself stretches for miles, its very size on the scale of a small town. Soon they entered the school and went straight to the hall, where everyone had began to gather. After some time, the doors closed automatically while a middle-aged man with a thick white beard arrived on the stage. Clearing his throat, he attracted everyone's attention. "We are all here on a monumental day as today will decide whether you can make an impact on society or not. I know most of you may be nervous, but I can't blame you, as this moment will decide your future and its importance, so good luck." "When your names are called, please ascend to the altars." Shortly after he said that, the hall began to transform. From the hall floor, three altars emerged from an opening in the ground and rose up from it, along with a glowing blue crystal attached to some machine for system recognition purposes. On the altar stood some examiners of all sorts. First up is Alan Berker. The boy stepped up from the crowd, and from his looks, one could easily tell he was nervous and scared of what he was going to get. "Place your hands on the crystal," the examiner said to the sweating boy. Upon placing his hand, the blue crystal sent an unknown form of energy into his very soul, and soon his system awakened, and the information was passed through some machine to decipher, though it couldn't show system capabilities or information. [The Rune system has been awakened] -Silver rank system. "Good, it looks like we have some talents here today." The boy quickly stepped down the altar, with excitement on his face, and of course, who wouldn't be happy they didn't awaken a trash system? Soon, the ceremony ensued. [System awakening failed] "No, I have to try again. I am sure I will awaken my system," the boy said this in desperation as he was dragged out of the hall. Everyone began to pray, hoping to at least awaken a system. [Blood system awakened] -Silver-rank system [Werewolf system awakened] -Silver-rank system [Bat system awakened] -Iron rank system [Wolf system awakened] ... Shortly after Allen and Jackie's names were called, "Wish you good luck," they said to one another as they stepped up to their respective altars. Jackie then placed his hands on the crystal, and it began to work. *Ding* [Runic Golem system awakened] -Gold-rank system "Yes, I have hit the jackpot,". He walked down the altar while he was scanning for Allen among the other students to boast about how wonderful of a system he got. Spotting Allen by an altar, he watched. Shortly after, Allen placed his hand on the crystal. *Ding* [Draconic system awakened] [Uncatalogued system detected] Finding representation [Lizard system] -Iron rank system "Huh, what the heck is going on?" he said in his mind while he looked at the screen, blaring at his face Lizard system, but he willed his system with his mind. 'Draconic system', totally contrasting the weak system on display. The examiner, who had stopped glancing at other students, finally took a look at Allen who stood still, he glanced at the screen displayed. "Lizard system?, sighting the text on the screen "some are just a waste of talent,". "Get down from the stage, staring at the screen won't change your system," the examiner said with disdain in his voice. Allen, not even sparing him a glance, calmly walked down the stage, while thanking his luck for awakening a good system. Though he didn't know its rank, he was sure it was at least gold rank. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Jackie, who walked up to him with a huge smile on his face. "Allen, what system did you awaken?" Jackie inquired. "Lizard system," he replied with no emotion on his face or voice. "Don't be so sad and let down you don't have to worry. I awakened a gold-rank system called the Runic Golem system, so you don't worry, I will protect you from any danger." Seeing this, Allen could help but cherish his one and only companion, and with this, a smile was put on his face. But just then their brotherly moment was interrupted by a bright glow that seemed to replace the sun. Everyone glanced at the source, it was none other than the school belle, Emma, Allen's previous girlfriend, who dumped him. The sparkles of light were enough for everyone to identify what phenomenon was occurring. These bright golden flashes of light only occurs when one is awakening to a Diamond rank system. *Ding* [Angelic system has awakened] Diamond-rank system Everyone let out a gasp, unable to utter anything as Emma descended, floating with her light blue hair dancing with the wind, a golden aura surrounding her curvy figure. Allen could feel a spark reignited in his heart. He knew he still had feelings for Emma, but he had always suppressed them, but now he couldn't resist the charm she exuded. And just then, his system updated his quest slot. *Ding* [A new quest has been issued] "What type of system is this? I thought one couldn't get a quest until they reached level 10," but still, he reluctantly checked it. ---- >Quest< • Acquire the target Emma Miller and add her to the dragon harem. • Reward: Random B-rank skill rune, access to the Dragon Castle. • Failure Penalty: Dysfunctionality • Time limit: 6 months ---- "Oh, my god," his jaws dropped at the sight of the quest. "What the heck," he said in his mind? He wanted to scream, but nothing came out. "Am I doomed?" he said while confirming whether what he saw was real or not. "Dysfunctionality?" he repeatedly questioned while glancing at where his little brother was. The very word echoed in his ears, but he steeled his resolve and uttered, "How hard can it be?" while stealing a glance at her. While everyone was still complimenting her, using flattery words. "She is going to bring back honor to the Tempest Phoenix Academy," everyone murmured. Shortly after, the ceremony resumed, while Jackie and Allen proceeded with their jokes and conversations. After another hour, everyone had finally participated, while some didn't awaken their system and were dragged out of the school, most did and were now officially systemholders. The altar and crystals finally vanished into the floor as the hall transformed back to normal, the seats reappeared, and everyone took their respective places. The middle-aged man, with his thick beard, once again stepped up to the stage. "Hehe," he cleared his throat. "For those who successfully awakened their system, congratulations, and for those who couldn't, my condolences." "You are all free to go home," but be prepared for tomorrow, as it will be a big day" he said, walking off the stage.
