Michael did not think twice. He pounced on the rogue wolf who’s holding the unknown and unconscious omega. They rolled off the ground, fangs bared to each other.
The wolves exchange bites and deep scratches. The other rogue wolf was about to attack Michael when two wolves from the Jeon pack grabbed its back and snapped his neck sidewards.
Michael targeted the opponent’s throat by sinking his large fangs on it, jaw tightened holding the throat and wagged it wildly.
The rogue fell on the ground, blood oozes from mouth and throat creating a pool of blood.
As Michael saw the two defeated rogues, he howled as a sign of triumph, which followed by the other wolves with him.
The alpha calmed himself, transformed back into his human form and went to the middle of the river to wash his face and body that was covered with blood.
As soon as he gof off from the river, he walked near the unconscious omega. “How is she?” he asked.
“I just checked up on her and she’s still breathing... just unconscious.” Peter answered.
“There are some bites and deep scratches on her body. These rogues are really bastards!” Jacob seethes in anger. “How can they do this to an omega?!”
Michael jaws ticked. Rogues were really getting into his nerves. Just two weeks ago, two of their pack members were attacked by the rogues, too. The victims were an old beta and her grandchild who’s just seven years old. Fortunately, there were alpha guards near the area where the incident happened so they immediately responded to the old beta’s howl.
They need to have a better plan on how to guard their territory and their pack.
He was busy thinking when they heard a silent groan. It came from the omega.
She’s still unconscious but her face contorted into pain.
“It’s dark already. We can’t leave an injured omega here.” Peter said while looking at Michael, eyes pleading. Peter is always soft for omegas.
Michael nodded as a sign of approval.
“Jacob, can you carry the omega up to our village?” Peter looked at his friend. Jacob is larger wolf than Peter so he can easily carry the omega who is still in wolf form.
“Sure!” He immediately responded, but when he’s about to touch the omega to lift her up, Michael released a low growl.
The two wolves were shocked while Michael cursed himself from what he did. He can’t believe that he growled at his friend for an unexplainable reason.
He can feel his wolf objecting with the idea of someone’s touching the omega.
The alpha coughed gently, “Go ahead. Let’s get back to the village now.” he said then turned back and begin to walk. He felt so embarrassed with the sudden action.

Hannah woke up from a dream- two rogues were lunging at her and bit her with their sharp fangs when a massive black wolf came to rescue her. Was it really a dream? or was it happened in reality?
The omega opened her heavy eyes. She blinked three times, trying to clear her blurry sight. She’s laying down on her stomach on a soft bed, covered with a white thick blanket.
Hannah looked around her surroundings- nothing is familiar. She’s in a small room where the only furnitures can be seen are bed and a small side table. The wall is made up of bamboo and there’s a small window which has a plain white laced curtain flowing in the wind coming from outside.
The omega took a deep breath. She can smell herbs and a faint lemongrass scent.
Hannah tried to move and lay down on her back but she winced from pain. Her back is hurting especially her shoulders.
Memories of what happened when the rogue wolves attacked her flashed through her senses.
What happened? Where are the wolves? Why is she here?
She noticed that she was covered with plasters and bandages. Some herbs were put inside the plasters.
“You’re awake!” a soft melodious voice was heard entering the room.
The woman looks like in her late 40’s, a soft smile was drawn on her face. Based on her mild lemongrass scent, the woman is a beta.
“How are you?” the woman asked. She put a tray with a bowl of hot soup and a glass of water on the side table.
“I...I feel weak and everything hurts...” she admitted.
“You’re badly injured. You were unconscious since last night and run with a high fever.” The woman checked her forehead by her palm. “Thanks to Moon Goddess...Your fever has subsided already.”
“Where am I?” Hannah asked.
“You’re here within the premise of Jeon pack. I am Melia by the way, healer of this pack. What’s your name?”
Hannah furrowed her brows. Melia...the name sounds familiar, she thought.
“My name is Hannah...” she replied. “Thank you for taking care of me, I don’t know how to repay your kindness.”
“Aishh this kid...you don’t have to repay me. I’m glad to help any wolves who’s in need. Besides, it’s the Jeon family who allowed you to stay here to improve your health and regain your strength.”
The woman helped her to sit and put the tray on her side. “You have to eat this and then afterwards, you should take this herbal medicine I prepared for you. It will heal your wounds faster.” she stated.
Hannah nodded and gave her a thankful smile. She scooped a soup and feed slowly. After emptying the bowl, she drank her medicine and put back the glass on the tray.
“Thank you, Miss Melia.”
“Just call me aunt Melia” the woman smiled and helped her lay down on the bed, putting the weight on her sides.
“Go back to sleep, Hannah. When you wake up, we have to change your plasters and bandages.”
The omega nodded and after a while, she drifted off to sleep. She haven’t noticed the alpha who just came, now staring at her with intent gaze.
