Hannah found herself dragged by the two alpha guards toward the dungeon. She protested many times but they seemed not listening at all. She heard that the torture session will start tomorrow. They pushed her inside a small cell. There’s no window, only a small hole on the wall which brings a little light from the moonlight inside.
Hannah laid down the cold floor and hugged herself while sobbing. She did not do anything wrong. Why she keeps on suffering? Is it the end for her?
The omega smiled bitterly. Maybe she will see her parents in heaven soon.
Hannah prayed to Moon Goddess that if it’s her time to die, she won’t suffer that much in pain. That the Moon Goddess let her die quickly.
Hannah didn’t know when she fell asleep. She heard a noise outside her cell. Someone’s trying to unlock the cold metal door. She moved in to the corner of her cell, fear crept in her veins. Then the smell of fresh pine hit her nose...
“Nico!!!” she whispered. She felt relief that its her friend and not someone else.
Nico hugged her tight. “Oh God, Hannah... I’m sorry. I shouldn’t left you alone earlier. It’s my fault..”
“No...please don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault why I am here. But it’s not my fault either. I did not steal anything.” she said, tears once again falling from her eyes.
“I know... I don’t believe their accusations against you. I know you can’t do that.” he whispered.
Nico released pheromones to help Hannah relax from crying and emotional outburst. “Let’s get out of here. Come on.”
“What? But the guards...”
“I secretly put some sleeping potion to their drink. Come on, let’s hurry!”
The two wolves went outside and ran away from the dungeon. They kept glancing left and right to make sure that no one notice them.
Nico lead her into a clearing where they can see the truck loaded of different goods from the Northern land.
“Hannah, listen to me. You cannot stay here in the pack anymore. They will hurt and kill you. You have to escape and go far away.” he gently explained. Pure sadness can see through his eyes.
“What about you?” she asked. “Will you be okay? What if they punished you from setting me free?”
“Don’t worry about me. I have a plan already before I went to the dungeon. I’ll be fine.” The beta held her hands.
Hannah nodded “I’m going to miss you, Nico.”
“I’ll miss you more....If I can just go with you right now, then I will. But I can’t...mom is sick. She needs me.” he sadly stated, eyes glistening with moisture.
“I understand...” she whispered.
Nico helped her get inside the truck. “The Northern traders will be here anytime soon. Please take care...my dearest bestfriend”. He kissed the temple of her forehead and covered her with some pile of light fabrics.
As she waited for the Northern wolves, she once again prayed to Moon Goddess for them to be safe.
——
Hannah opened her eyes when she felt the sudden move of the truck. She heard the noises of the male wolves talking and laughing. She prayed that they won’t notice her laying down in the corner, covered with some pile of fabrics.
Along the way, she drifted on and off sleep. She felt her body numb and sore...she wanted to stretch her arms and legs badly but knew she couldn’t. Her throat is now dry and her stomach growled too from hunger.
After feels so many years, the truck stopped abruptly. She wondered why when she heard loud growls. Out of curiosity, she peeked out from the fabric. Her eyes widened when they see five large wolves...No! They are not just ordinary wolves, but they are rogues! Rouge wolves are known for killing other wolves mercilessly without any reason.
The omega’s hair raised from fear. What would she do now?
The rogue wolves attacked the truck and the Northern wolves took a defence against them.
Hannah saw from how they bare fangs and claws to killing each other. Blood shed everywhere. The omega can’t take a look anymore, she once again covered herself.
Long agonising pain and howl were heard until the surrounding became quiet. Hannah can only hear the loud thud of her heartbeat.
“Do you smell that?” the rogue wolf sniffed the air. “Seems like we have a viewer here.” he grinned.
The other wolf went to the back of the truck to trace the smell. “It seems like it’s coming from here... I can smell an omega.” he declared.
Hannah felt her heart stop beating. She closed her eyes and controlled her breathing.
“Don’t be shy, sweetie. Stop hiding and present yourself, otherwise...” one of the rogue wolves said with a threat tone on his voice.
She has nowhere to go. Rogue wolves have great sense of smell so they can smell her even if there’s a smell of blood everywhere. They can locate her under the pile of clothes. She has to be brave.
Hannah uncovered herself and stood on the truck. She saw the two large rogue wolves, one at the other side of the truck, another one standing outside the truck. Both of them was covered with blood and bruises. She looked around the area. The other rogue wolves and the three Northern wolves were laying on the ground, some flesh were missing. They are dead. The omega stopped herself from puking, eyes went back to the remaining two rogue wolves.
“Well, did you enjoy what you’ve seen, omega?” the wolf with a fresh cut on the cheeks asked.
“Please, don’t hurt me.” she pleaded. She is trembling from fear but her omega is at edge, ready to attack at anytime to defence herself from these wolves.
“Do you hear that, Lucas? Please don’t hurt me.” he mimicked.
Air filled with laughter. “What a pity! This scared kitten pleaded for her life.”
“Why don’t we play first?! This omega loves hide and seek. We can play that game, too.” the taller wolf suggested.
The other wolf agreed. “Not a bad idea. Let’s have some fun here, omega!”
“Run with all your might. We will give you fifty counts and we’ll chase after you. Just pray that we’ll never find you because you won’t like what are we going to do with your small weak body.” he grinned, evil intentions flashing on his yellow eyes.
Hannah took a deep breath. This is better than having no chance at all...
“Go!”
