CHAPTER 7
Rosa wouldn’t let them help with cleanup, so shortly after supper, May and Silas hugged Myla and Adam. May even hugged Jamie while Silas shook his hand. With promises to call, they headed for home.
When they arrived at home, May and Silas stood on the porch and looked at the stars. Silas had his arms around May, holding her close to him while she stood in front of him looking up. May sighed. “It is so beautiful,” she said. “I never knew I could be so happy.” She turned in his arms and looked up at him. “I love you so much, Silas Long Feather,” she whispered.
Silas leaned forward and kissed her. May snuggled closer and kissed him back. When they came up for air, he continued to hold her close.
