Accompanied by his father, Tom let himself back into the house. He searched around downstairs, but no-one was home. He offered to make tea but his father declined. Tom took his case upstairs to the spare room and unpacked, carefully placing his freshly laundered clothes into the wardrobe and onto shelves. He unpacked the other bags Anne had filled and checked to ensure his small case had everything he needed for his work trip. He set the radio-alarm ready to go for his morning flight and phoned a local minicab company to take him to the airport.
