Tom, Sally and Ahmed rose early, raring to go. They breakfasted on fresh breads, cold meats and cheeses, washed down with fruit juice and rich dark coffee, then went to locate their car. All the arrangements had been made and a four door Ford Fiesta was sitting at the front of the hotel. Ahmed was nervous about driving at first, taking his time to acclimatise to driving on the right. He grumbled, more than once, about adjusting to changing gears with his right hand without losing control of the steering. Traffic was heavy and slow moving, which proved to be a blessing, allowing Ahmed more time to manoeuvre and change lanes.
