Tom, Sally and Ahmed had another early rise, breakfasting at seven, as their flight was due to leave mid-morning. Tom found he was apprehensive as he headed downstairs, not knowing how Sally might react after their encounter the previous evening. To his surprise, her attitude was no different to normal. It was as if nothing had happened between them. He was relieved there was no tension but he was also disappointed, as he"d hoped the seed had been planted for a greater intimacy between them. He felt like a nervous schoolboy with a crush, too frightened to ask for a first date.
