Damien POV We danced for most the night and I made sure that mother truly enjoyed herself, even with the absent of Adrian and when I see him, I’m going to give him a piece of my mind. f*****g bastard. I made sure Mother got home safely and even walked her to her door. “Thank you, Damien, truly for making this night a little more pleasurable.” She gave me a kiss on my cheek and entered the lonely manor. I walked to my Conquest Knight XV SUV, Adrain hates it and says that it looks like an amour tank but that’s why I love it. He did always have a thing for the sporty cars. I pulled my phone out and decided to call the bastard, “Hello.” “Where the hell are you at?!” I could hear from the background that it was quiet, too quiet. He sighed heavily, “Thinking.” And then hung up. I already knew from that statement alone he went to his father’s grave, which is at the old manor where the Blood Moon Ball was hosted. I drove back there and was wondering how long he had been there and why didn’t he come to be at his mother’s side. When I got to where he was at, he was halfway through a bottle of brandy. “Having a pity party, huh.” I sat next to him and pour a glass, “You know if you have been here, you could have danced with mother tonight.” I shot back the dark liquid, “She really wanted her son.” We sat under the stars in silence and drank until the bottle was empty. “You know I never wanted to disappoint mother but after dealing with Victoria and Bethany I had my feel of the night.” He stared deeply into the empty cup, “How did everything get like this?” he asked. “Honestly brother, I don’t know?” we sat in silence, wondering how did things get like this. *BUZZ**BUZZ* "Are you going to get that?" I asked, "Nope." He simply sighed, "It's most likely Beth wanting to talk about Katherine's up coming wedding." "Oh? She found her bond?" I asked intrigued, "Yeah, I guess so." He combed his hand through his hair, " She wants like a million for her daughters upcoming nuptials." I shot up shocked at what I just heard, "A f*****g MILLION, ADRIAN?!" I pointed my finger at him, "You better f*****g not!" "I told her I would help with the dress and that was it." He stood up and dusted himself off. I pat my friend on the shoulders and looked him sqaure in the eyes, "Brother you need to let that leech go." "I know but the contract." I sighed heavily because even I know Adrian is a man of his word and his honor, which is what I admire about him, "Don't worry once you find your bond. You'll be free of her.". We started heading back to our cars, "If I find her." He replied sadly. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Adrian POV I decided to drive to the airport hangar where I knew my private jet was waiting. I shot a quick text to James my pilot and told him to make sure everything was ready to go for takeoff. I would rather head back to New York than to be nagged to death by mother for leaving early yet again. I just want to sleep and unwind for the night. I placed my phone on silence, since Beth wouldn't stop blowing me up about Katherine's wedding. I refuse to pay for that whole damn thing. I arrived at the hangar and parked the car in the garage. I met James inside the port, "We'll be ready for takeoff in about an hour sir.” “Sounds good.” I boarded the plane and began scrolling my phone when I noticed an email from my assistant, Ashley. {Dear Mr. Bello, I’m reporting to you, my resignation. Your need for an assistant is too high and I feel as though you think of me as a servant. I was offered a better position and opportunity elsewhere. Unless you can match there offer with better, consider this my two weeks’ notice affective immediately. Sincerely, Ashely J. Stewart} Hmph, better opportunity she says and then she has the audacity to ask for me to match there offer. The girl had no real work ethic anyway. She would forget everything I told her and would confuse the different trustees I needed to meet with. Plus, she was always trying to flirt with every guy in the damn building, married or not. The amount of the complaints I received were getting out of hand. Now I don’t feel so bad going into the office Monday. She can pack her s**t and get the f**k out first thing. I’ll be damn if I give her two weeks. *DING*PLEASE FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT, SIR. WE'RE PREPARING FOR TAKEOFF.*DING* I fasten my belt and continued to browse my phone and that's when the texts began to flood my phone. One after another each one from Beth. [Adrian, are you ignoring me? I've been calling all day.] Ignore no; avoid yes, I thought. [Adrian we need to discuss Katherine's wedding to Paulo.] Ugh, he sounds like a douche. [I rethought the budget and your right a million won't do.] Well, at least we agree there. It's too damn much. [Honestly what Katherine wants she should be able to get without any restrictions. So, it should be completely unlimited, dont you agree?] And who the f**k is paying for that? Not me. [Adrian remember what you promised me] Oh, I remembered and I don't think that meant being your personal bank. *DING*IT'S SAFE TO MOVE, SIR.*DING* I already know she's probably texting me like crazy still. Most likely telling me what and how she envision Katherine's wedding but I don’t care. I walked into the private bedroom and headed straight to the bathroom. I turned the shower on hot and allowed it to warm up while I grabbed my pajamas and a towel. I stripped my suit off and got in allowing the hot water to pour from my head down to my toes. All I could think was why? Why do I let her affect me? Why do I still help? And why do I still care? I got out and towel dried myself. I put my pajama pants on and plopped onto the soft king size bed. I turned the lights off and I allowed the dark quiet room to swallow me as I drifted off to sleep.
