Not Man's Best Friend

"Mrs. Pinkney!" The veterinarian said, walking around the table that Buddy, which is the name Kaleigha had already given her new friend, was lying on. "That is not a dog, it's a wolf!" "Say what?" Kaleigha was confused, it looked like a puppy to her. "Where did you get him?" "Um, I'm not sure if he was on the road or if I veered off. I was looking for my um blood pressure pills and I looked down and-" "Aren't you a little young for hypertension?" The veterinarian asked her, calling her out on her lie. Kaleigha just frowned at her. "So will he be okay?" She asked, ignoring her question and turning the conversation back to the situation at hand. "I want to make sure there is no internal damage first. So I'll do a few X-rays afterward we will talk." She kept looking at her oddly, then she said "Don't get attached, he's a wolf, not a dog." "What's the difference?" Kaleigha asked. The veterinarian looked at her like she was annoyed that she asked the question. "Google it, honey, I have work to do." She said smartly, completely dismissing her. How rude! Kaleigha thought even though she had intentionally asked the question to irritate the woman. "You can wait in the waiting room and she will call you when she is done." Her assistant stated. Kaleigha gave Buddy one more rub and then went to wait. She had several texts from Vanessa saying she would be home this weekend and wanted to hang out. She never tried to be antisocial, but it just happened. Vanessa always wanted to go to some bar, some party, or some club. She was super girly and pretty, so Kaleigha felt she was pretty invisible next to her. She was really self-absorbed too, so most of the time she didn't notice her discomfort or care. She worked and had no social life, which Mrs. Jene pointed out daily. Sometimes she thought she made Vanessa be her friend because she felt sorry for her. Growing up, they were often forced into situations because of the bond that Jene and her Mom shared. It seemed lately memories were flooding back to her. In dreams, mostly odd memories, things that made her wonder if they happened or rather she imagined them. Surely she had, like now, as she sat in the waiting room looking at the little girl in her girl scouts uniform, she remembered being at Scout's. She remembered a camping trip they took and they had to make a freaking fire to get their badges. She could have cared less but Vanessa was an overachiever. Her face had turned red as she looked at what she was attempting to do, and over at what the others were doing. She was close to tears. She always turned red before she cried. While she was looking over at them, Kaleigha reached out and touched the stones and she had her fire. She shifted uncomfortably in her chair. That didn't happen. Of course not people don't make fire, she thought. Still, she remembered being young and naive and truly believing she had. She never tried it again, thinking it was silly and kind of scary. The strange part about that memory was the heat. The heat that she felt seemed somehow familiar to me. That veterinarian assured her Buddy was fine thanks to Goddess Kaleigha's thought. Now she had to figure out what to do with him. According to Google, wolves are not good pets. After about six months, they became hard to handle. She guessed it was the call of the wild. She felt a little sad that she’d have to let him go. "So, Buddy, that b***h said that I shouldn't keep you, and as much fun as it's been, I know she is right. Besides, your mom is probably worried about you, friend." As if he understood, he barked and started licking my face. She found herself giggling and swerving as she drove. Buddy looked at her and she laughed. "Yeah, that's how you got f****d up! I don't want to hit a kid, so you sit over there." To her amazement, he did just that. "You are handsome and smart. Hard to find these days in a male. Are you hungry? Do wolves eat sausage biscuits?" He looked at her and for a moment he thought about jumping in her lap again, but like a good boy, he waited until they were at the drive-thru before he pounced on her again. "Buddy omg I am definitely an official animal lover." She rubbed his ears and he rolled over so she could rub his belly. She ordered them some breakfast and she drove, while they ate, back to the spot where she hit him. "I'm so glad your okay friend, but a little sad you have to go. Can you make me a promise?" His ears perked up and he sat very still as if he was listening. "Be safe, friend. I'm not sure if I ran off the road or if you ran in front of my car, but people suck. A lot of them would just leave you. Not me, though I racked up a healthy bill for you Sir." She rubbed his head. "You are definitely worth it. Now stay away from the road, okay." He nuzzled his head against her body and she gave him a big hug before opening the door. He jumped out and ran straight for the woods, never looking back. She went to work late! Mrs. Jene didn't care though she was in a good mood. "Vanessa is insisting on staying at your place. I'm so excited she is coming home." "Me too." Kaleigha smiled. She prepared lunch for the children under school age and, later that day, dinner. Then she headed home. Before leaving, though, she found Mrs. Jene in her office "Mr. Dolan creeps the girls out, Mrs. Jene, I think maybe you should call the company and request a new driver." "Did something happen, Kali?" "He seems to be fixated on the girls." Mrs. Jene was aware of her history and she probably thought she was being paranoid. "I will do that. Thanks, Kali." Kaleigha nodded and headed home. She looked at the spot where she had dropped Buddy off that morning and smiled sadly, hoping he was okay as she drove by. She showered and fixed a sandwich after reading a message from Vanessa saying she would be there tomorrow instead. She was a little disappointed after hanging out with Buddy. She missed having someone she could talk to freely. She watched a little more television and was getting ready for bed when her cell phone rang. Say it again Blaine! It is a simple spell. Why is everything so difficult for you?" Aphena sucked her teeth as she studied her son. She thought the union between her and Heron would create something great, but she had a dud. He could not do a simple enchantment spell. "Just get away from me." She grabbed a handful of his hair and shoved him away from her. His face turned red and this angered her. "I promise you weakling, if you cry I will turn you into a f*****g frog. Tska am ski!" She hissed and suddenly Blain found himself on a dark road. He hated his mother. She was impossible to please. He had no desire to practice sorcery. He could care less how many generations his family had done it or how many kings and queens and royal assholes they once served. He just wanted to be normal, human. Why was that so much to ask, he thought. As he began walking, he noticed a sign and let out a sigh of relief. At least this time she had only landed him outside of town. The last time she was pissed he'd awaken in f*****g Russia, he'd almost died from the cold and it took him forever to get back to the USA because he had no passport. He was sure she thought this would make him suddenly be able to use the retraction spell she had taught him, but just to spite her, he didn't even try. He started walking when a truck came wheezing by. It hit the brakes, the brake lights came on and the truck began to back up. "Vanessa." "Hey, Blaine." She said, batting her eyes at him, "you need a ride somewhere." Vanessa had a thing for him for years, but she wasn't his type. She was pushy and he figured it was because she wasn't used to hearing no. It was a total turn-off for him, but he still decided to take her up on the offer. "Where are you headed this late at night Vanessa?" "A bar, my mom is annoying as hell. I want to hang out before I go off to college. She keeps insisting I go with her to my grandparents' and spend time with Kaleigha." "Oh okay, is that so bad hanging out with your family?" Blaine asked. "Oh my God my grandmother calls me Jene, she doesn't even know I'm there, and please don't get me started on Kaleigha's ass.” "That your sister or something?" "Oh no, my mom works in a children's home and one of her friends adopted this girl and she is so weird." Vanessa laughed. "Weird how?" "She never wants to go out; she'd rather sit in the house all day. I think she might be gay because, other than me, she never wants to be around people. She is all into physical sports, running, wrestling and boxing. You know s**t like that." Blaine laughed as he looked at Vanessa. She was dressed kind of slutty. Her dress left nothing to the imagination. She had her boobs nearly spilling out of her very low-cut dress. He thought it over and realized she always dressed this way, at least every encounter he had with her. He could not imagine her doing physical activity either. "Yeah, maybe she is gay because you would have to be blind to think that was your thing." "Maybe we should test your theory." Vanessa laughed "I should call and invite her to the bar and you should hit on her. If she turns you down, she is most surely gay." "Am I that hot?" Blaine asked as he shot her a crooked smile. Vanessa giggled as she looked over at him. "Stop it, every girl in school dreamed of dating Blaine." "You included Vanessa?" "Of course, the hottest guy for the hottest girl." She confidently tossed her hair over her shoulder as she smiled at him. He had to admit she was hot but way too self-absorbed for him. She had shoulder-length auburn, wavy hair. She was about 5’6, a petite frame with full breasts and a tiny waist. Her pouty lips had a shade of pink lipstick that looked great on her. "So your friend is gay for you. Have you ever thought about just having some fun with her? I'd love to watch that." He reached over and rubbed her leg. She let out a nervous smile. She had never thought about being with a girl, but if that was what it would take to get Blaine's attention, so be it. "You're kidding, right?" She asked, wanting to make sure he wasn't just playing with her. His hand went further up her leg. "Not at all, baby always wanted a threesome," Blaine said as Vanessa moaned with pleasure. "And after will we be a thing?" "You and I sure." Blaine heard himself lie. He had to admit he did like that control he seemed to have over all the girls. They melted every time he touched them. They became like putty in his hands. Vanessa was so excited she had decided there was no way Kaleigha was ruining this for her, even if she had to blackmail her. "Hey Kali, I'm home." Vanessa sang into the phone. "Hey Nessa, welcome home. Your mom had called me like a thousand times to see if you made it." "Oh yeah, she can be a tad overprotective, I know. Hey, Kali, can you do me like a huge favor, please?' "What is it?" "Meet me at the bar on Fourth Street for a drink." "No way, Vanessa, you know that is not my scene." Kaleigha quickly stated. "Kali" she paused. Most girls can be lured by hot guys, but not Kali. She sighed heavily "this friendship is always so one-sided everything is about you. You never care about what I have going on." "That's not true, Vanessa. I haven't heard from you since you left and-" "And yet I could have been hanging out with my family but instead I wanted a drink with my best friend and, as always, you flake, god Kali you're so lame. Why do I bother?" She hung up in her ear. Kaleigha's feelings were hurt. She never wanted to go to clubs and bars because, next to Vanessa, she was never seen and her friends were so obnoxious. She walked around the house thinking about what Vanessa said. "She's not coming,'' Vanessa said, looking at Blaine. It made no sense for a guy to be this cute, she thought, "Disappointing," Blaine said, looking suddenly bored. They were sitting at the bar, Vanessa sipping on a margarita while Blaine sipped his beer. Vanessa felt like she was losing his interest so she reached under the table and started rubbing his c**k through his jeans. "Meet me in the little girl's room." She slid off the stool, adjusting her dress. Blaine watched as she sashayed away debating if it was worth his time. He decided it was entertainment so he found his way into the girl's bathroom. Vanessa pulled him into the booth and unbuckled his pants. She had been waiting for this moment. She went to kiss him but he leaned back, placing his hand on her head, and he nudged her head downward, saying "no kissing on the first date." Vanessa dropped to her knees, ignoring the voice in her head saying, but it's okay for me to suck your d**k. "Jesus! It's huge Blaine. I can barely get it in my mouth." She mumbled as she tried sucking him off. Blaine was not exactly gentle as he shoved himself in her mouth holding her hair. She kept gagging as he f****d her mouth. She was trying to focus on breathing and not puking all over him when he came into her mouth. She was mortified when she felt the warm liquid hit the back of her throat. As soon as he slid himself out of her mouth, she leaned over and vomited in the toilet. She could barely get herself together before she felt him ramming himself into her. Vanessa screamed but Blaine paid her no mind. He shoved her face on the toilet seat as he f****d her from behind. Vanessa quickly discovered that she was not into rough s*x. When he pulled his c**k out and spit on it. She took the moment to catch her breath. Then she felt the sharp piercing feeling of her flesh being torn as he rammed his c**k into her anus. Now it was not like she had not done this before with other guys, but she felt it should be something discussed beforehand. "Blaine!" She was holding back her tears because it hurt like hell. "This is what I like, can't handle it, princess?" He asked, pausing his stroke. She really liked him and wanted them to be a thing so she said nothing. So he spits on it again and rammed it back in her ass. She was so happy when he slid himself out and back into her v****a. Vanessa's hair was wet from the toilet water and it was all she could seem to focus on as Blaine pounded her. She hoped no one would come in because she was sure she sounded as if she was being tortured inside the stall. When it was over, he stood up, pulled his pants up and he said "that was kind of fun." And then he was gone. Vanessa could feel the c*m dripping from her ass. She grabbed at the tissue and started to wipe it off. She walked out of the stall, ran to the sink and started rinsing her mouth out. She had gotten what she wanted but she felt disgusting. Her hair was wet from toilet water. She leaned down and rinsed her hair. A girl walked into the bathroom and went into the stall she had just come out of. "These bathrooms are so gross. Yuck, there is s**t on the toilet, wait is that blood?" The girl came out and went to the next stall. Vanessa felt her stomach-turning. Her face was on that toilet seat a moment ago. She bent down and washed her face. She reapplies her lipstick and mascara. "Hey, honey, you have a stain on the back of your dress." The girl said, washing her hands. She looked Vanessa up and down. "you okay?" "Great," Vanessa said as the girl nodded and left the bathroom. Vanessa took her dress off and washed the back off where Blaine had left his sperm. When she finally came out, she spotted him sitting at a booth being drooled over by two average-looking females wearing way too much makeup. Vanessa slid across from them into the booth and the girl looked offended that she had invaded their space. "Um excuse you." One of the girls said. Vanessa looked the girl up and down. And then she looked at Blaine. "Really?" He laughed and shrugged his shoulders. He hadn't even invited them to sit. He was about to say just that when she walked in. He was literally at a loss for words as he stared at her, his mouth hung open. It was so obvious that something had caught his attention that the two girls got pissed. "Who the f**k is she, your girlfriend or something?" Vanessa turned and her eyes grew huge as Kaleigha looked around the bar for her. She was wearing a mustard green flowing baby doll-style dress that hung to her mid-thigh. It was a horrible color that would have been ugly on anyone else, but against Kaleigha's dark almond complexion, it looked fabulous. Where the f**k did she find those matching sandals, Vanessa thought as she walked toward their table. She noticed how smooth her long legs were. Her hair was pulled back into a bun. And she had lip gloss that made her full lips look pouty. "Hey Vanessa, sorry I'm late." She said, awkwardly standing there waiting for her to slide over and offer her a seat. Blaine jumped up, nearly knocking the girl that was sitting to his right on the floor. "You can sit here." He said, making the girl to his left really f*****g mad. "f**k this!" She said, sliding out of the booth. She practically stomped off with her friend behind her. "Um, did I interrupt something?" "No," Blaine said, stepping aside for her. Kaleigha slid in. She looked at Vanessa and instantly knew something was off. "Kali, this is Blaine," Vanessa said, watching him as he stared at Kaleigha as if she was the first girl she had ever seen. "Kali." He said her name and it rolled off her lips as smooth as butter. "Kali, Kali, Kali" "Yes. That's my name. Don't wear it out." Kali said jokingly, but she instantly felt corny when Vanessa shot her a look. "Sorry, it's just different." Blaine apologized. "Is it really?" Kaleigha said as Vanessa studied her. "Kaleigha, it's actually very beautiful, kind of exotic. What does it mean?" "Nothing really. I don't even know where it came from." "Your parents." He laughed. "Oh no, I was adopted. My adopted mom asked me if I wanted to change it and I said no, it had grown on me." She laughed a little to herself. She made drum motions with her hands on the table, saying "I could use a drink. What are you drinking, Nessa?" Vanessa hadn't noticed the glass sitting in front of her. "One of Blaine's guests must have left that behind." She gave him a look but he was staring at Kaleigha so hard he didn't notice. "Well, it's a bar, right? I'm paying. What do you want?" "Your money's no good tonight, Leigh. It's on me." Blaine said. Kaleigha c****d her head to the side as she looked at him. She had often thought a thousand times about how she would have preferred Leigh, but somehow Kali it always seemed to be. Now this stranger, this hunk, she determined as she looked him up and down, had called her Leigh. Interesting he was, she thought to herself. Vanessa, on the other hand, was shooting daggers at him because he had not offered to buy her drink when they had first arrived. "Cool, I would like s*x on the beach." "I would love s*x on the beach," Blaine said as he drooled over Kaleigha. She just laughed it off as she stared at him. "Yoo-hoo over here!" Vanessa said, waving her hand at him "strawberry daiquiri please." Blaine quickly slid out of the booth and went to get their drinks. "What's with him?" Kaleigha asked as he walked off. "He's mine," Vanessa said sharply. "I don't think he knows that." Kaleigha laughed as she looked over at the bar and Blaine stared boldly back at her. "Kaleigha, as long as you know," Vanessa snapped. Kali's smile quickly faded. She didn't care for Vanessa's tone and she moaned because she knew she should have stayed home. Obviously, they had something going on and she had interrupted. "Where did you get the dress?" "Your mom gave me a bunch of clothes when you left. She said you would never wear them because she bought them or something. I thought it was cute." She smoothed the dress out with her hands. "I always hated the color. I thought it looked like baby shit." Vanessa said, smiling as she insulted her in only a way that Vanessa could. Blaine slid back into the booth and passed them their drinks. "One for you." He said, sitting a drink in front of Vanessa "and one for Leigh, the prettiest girl at the bar tonight." He said, looking at Kaleigha. "Awe so sweet. I thought I looked a little like baby s**t in this color." Kali smirked. "Well, if they smell something stinking tell them it's you cause you're the shiiiit," Blaine said, making Kali laugh at his corny joke. She sipped her drink and ignored the looks Vanessa was throwing her way. Why did she invite me? She found herself wondering. After her third drink, she didn't even care. And when 50 cent song comes on, it's your birthday. Kaleigha squealed. She reached over and grabbed Vanessa's hand. "Come on Vanessa, let's dance." Vanessa snatched her hand away. "I don't feel like it." "I'll dance with you." Blaine chimed in, quickly grabbing her arm before she had a chance to say no. Kali gave Vanessa a look of help but she just sat there like she was in shock. Kaleigha started dancing and, to her surprise, Blaine kept up. Dance was one of her favorite things to do. She studied different styles of dancing as she did fighting, but not many people knew. "You are pretty awesome, Kali. Too bad your lesbian." Blaine whispered to her. Kali stopped dancing just to stare at him. "Do I look lesbian?" She asked as she looked at him, completely thrown off. "Well no, but I know you are." He said, "It's no big deal or anything." Blaine said. "I'm not gay or lesbian or whatever," Kali said as she looked at him. Suddenly she just knew. "Vanessa told you I was gay." "Yeah. She said she thought you might have the hots for her or something." Kali looked at him in awe, then she burst out laughing. "Are you serious? Nessa thinks I like her?' "Well, do you?" He asked, leaning in and he came so close to her that Kaleigha almost didn't realize he was trying to kiss her. "No, I don't like her like that. She is a total snob, but you're a total ass. You think I don't know what happened between you too?' "She told you?" He looked shocked. Kaleigha laughed, "No you just did." She walked off the dance floor and back over to the table. "I'm going home and you should go to your mom's." "Why so, you can f**k my boyfriend?" Vanessa snapped. "Oh you're worried about that are you," Kaleigha said right as Blaine stood behind her. "Well make your mind up Vanessa, am I a lesbian that wants to f**k you or a slut that wants to f**k your boyfriend? " Vanessa's mouth dropped open. "I don't want your man, who clearly is not your man and also, if I were into chicks it would not be you. I never really saw what guys see in you. Must be the Fabulous head game." Kali snapped back. "Not," Blaine said, causing both of them to look at him. "Wow, just wow!" Kali said as she walked off.
