Fallen Luna

Emily I feel a gush of tightness around my chest more like a volcano is erupting inside of me. In the next 14 days I will be turning 18! The thought of being an adult is overwhelming. I still remember days when it was just my dolls around my tea table, the days when I enjoyed playing out in the sunlight.... My mother Gloria is an artist so we mainly spent our time outdoors. We have a beautiful house on the lakeside in North Michigan. She loves nature and painting flowers. She also loves her charity work but exploring nature is one of her favourite hobbies. Thats how she found me, I was 2 years old abandoned by my parents in the woods not far off from our house. My dad Christopher Carter who is a successful business man and Gloria were married for 8 years at the time. They have tried all means of having a baby unfortunately they were unsuccessful. Gloria had a "Fallopian tube obstruction" so they could never conceive a baby. The day Gloria found me, she found the missing piece to her heart as she said. They adopted me and gave me the Carter name. Being the daughter of a millionaire had advantages but I had to be on top of my game. I always excelled in all my grades, including sporting activities particularly swimming. There is just something about water that makes me shut the voices in my head out, it creates a calming feeling over my body. I love hanging out with the gang, when I was not with my books or doing sporting activities, I was hanging out with the gang at "Charlies" one of the best hang out spots in Michigan! oh shucks! that reminds me, I forgot to message Amy, She had asked me to send her a message when I wake up. Amy was my best friend as we were together since kinder garden. Then followed her cousin Jack whom I met in elementary School. Jack then introduced us to Katy and her now new boyfriend Ross. Amy and I wanted to make plans for the summer as my birthday was also approaching. She is always big on celebrating...she loves to party There you are! said Amy why are you all cuddled up in this bed??? when it so beautiful outside, I have been trying to call you since this morning, she looked at me with a worried expression I'm sorry, I just needed to sleep in a little, I was feeling exhausted after all the studying and exams we had written over the past 2 weeks. Amy got up and pulled me by the hand, please go shower we need to meet up with the gang at Charlies in 30 minutes. I had a quick shower, slipped on my yellow tank shirt and denim shorts. I tied a high pony and slipped on my sneakers. Lets go.... I yanked at Amy As we got downstairs to the kitchen I saw mum clearing out some boxes. What are we doing with all this stuff mum? Oh honey this was in the guest house and I forgot to tell you, Aunt Jenny's son is coming over to discuss some business plans with dad and he will be here for a few days, I want him to be comfortable so the guest house seems appropriate. I miss aunt Jenny, I haven't seen her many times because they lived in a small state out of Michigan, but when we did get together it was always so much fun. Mum and aunt Jenny were best friends too like Amy and I! but they felt more like family. Sadly she passed away when her son Logan was just 7 years old and his dad Jeremy raised him. From what I know Logan Velos is pretty successful in the Velos family business but we haven't seen him in all these years. I can see the excitement in mums face when she speaks about them. She misses aunt Jenny so much.... I'm going to hang out a bit with the gang at Charlies but if you need anything just call me mum Ok, bye sweetheart ,have fun
