Chapter Nine Chase Something about Arabella kept pulling me in. She had things going on for her that other women I’d been around just didn’t. She seemed both fearless and fragile at the same time, which was odd but endearing. Truth be told, I couldn’t spend enough time with her. So, when Sunday morning dawned, I went to work, making a breakfast that would dazzle her. The plan after that was to spend the entire day with her. I didn’t care how we spent it, but I didn’t want to waste a second of it without her. I’d texted her to come and eat breakfast with me whenever she got up. A half-hour later, she came in through the back door. “I am starving. What did you make?” “My specialty.” I went to the oven to pull out the food I’d kept warm so we could enjoy it together. “Quiche Lorraine.”
