Chapter Fourteen
Arabella
Although my extended family was large, my immediate family hadn’t been. So, spending the evening with Chase’s family had been different than what I was used to. But it was an amazing experience.
“I never knew little kids could be so much fun,” I said as Chase and I snuggled on his couch.
“You took to my niece the way a duck takes to water.” He kissed the top of the head. “I find it hard to believe that you’ve never been around kids before.”
“It’s not that I haven’t been around them. I have. But I haven’t interacted with them.” My aunts and uncles had come over plenty of times. But they had never brought their kids with them until the kids were in their teens. Now that I knew what kind of man my father was, I understood why that was.
