"Love Through the Years"

The sun was setting over the city as Sara made her way through the crowded streets. She was on her way to meet her best friend, Mark, for their weekly dinner date. They had been friends since college, and although they had never been more than that, Sara couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement every time she saw him. As she approached the restaurant, Sara spotted Mark waiting for her outside. He smiled when he saw her and she felt her heart skip a beat. They hugged and made their way inside.Over dinner, they chatted about their work, their families, and their plans for the upcoming weekend. They laughed and joked, as they always did, but Sara couldn't help but feel that something was different tonight. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was a tension between them that she had never felt before. As they finished their dessert, Mark leaned across the table and took her hand. "Sara," he said, his voice serious. "There's something I need to tell you." Sara's heart raced as she looked into his eyes. She could see the intensity of his feelings reflected there, and she knew that whatever he was about to say was going to change everything. "I love you," he said simply. Sara felt tears welling up in her eyes as she looked at him. She had always known that she loved him too, but she had never dared to hope that he felt the same way. "I love you too," she whispered. They sat there for a moment, their hands clasped together, not speaking. It was as if they both knew that their lives were about to change forever, and they were savoring this moment before everything became different. Finally, Mark spoke again. "Sara, I don't want to lose you. I want to be with you, always. Will you be mine?" Sara didn't even have to think about her answer. "Yes," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. They went on trips together, explored new places, and tried new things. They supported each other through the ups and downs of life, and through it all, their love grew deeper and stronger. They watched as their children grew up and started their own families, but they remained as close as ever, still holding hands and looking into each other's eyes with the same love and devotion they had shared all those years ago.
