Wait, are you also a Virgin?
The main dining hall was noisier than usual. Lena managed to force some forkful of pasta down her throat, trying to ignore the noisy environment. She didn’t like eating in the private dining hall meant for wealthy kids like her, she loved being normal but today’s noise was louder than she could take. Across from her, Diane was halfway through a sentence about her psychology professor when the scraped chair legs cut her off. Chloe and her little group of clones didn’t even ask to sit down, they just sat down uninvited. Chloe was trouble and Lena always tried to avoid her, but seems Chloe was bent on testing her patience. “You will not believe who I ran into at the frat house last night,” Chloe announced loudly, leaning forward. She tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder, making sure the students on the other tables could hear her. “Marcus. From the soccer team.” “No way,” one of her friends, Sarah, gasped, leaning in. “The midfielder? I thought he was seeing that senior.” “Please. He forgot all about her the second I walked onto the porch,” Chloe scoffed, a proud smile spreading across her lips. “We ended up in his car within twenty minutes. And let’s just say, the rumors about soccer players are completely true. The stamina on that guy is ridiculous.” The girls giggled, leaning closer over their untouched salads. “Wait, did you actually… you know, in the backseat?” Sarah whispered loudly. “Obviously,” Chloe said, rolling her eyes like it was the most natural thing in the world. “The windows were blurry enough for anyone to see through, but it was so hot. Honestly, my current fantasy is doing it on the actual field under the stadium lights. He promised me he’d sneak me in next weekend.” “Oh my god, Chloe, you’re insane,” another girl laughed, shaking her head. “I could never. I’m still trying to get over Tyler. He’s all talk, but when it actually comes down to it, he’s done in five minutes. Total disappointment.” “Ugh, pathetic,” Chloe groaned, taking a tiny sip from her water bottle. “Life is too short for bad s*x, girls. If a guy doesn’t know exactly what to do with his hands by the first two minutes, I’m out.” Lena kept her eyes glued to her plate, her grip tightening on her fork. It always felt so forced, like they were trying way too hard to prove how adventurous and experienced they were. Suddenly, Chloe’s eyes locked onto her. The loud laughter at the table died down instantly. “Why are you so quiet, Lena?” Chloe asked, a nasty little smirk spreading across her face. “Don’t tell me you’re still a virgin?” Right next to Lena, Diane took a huge gulp of water and instantly choked. She started coughing violently, her face turning red as she gasped for air. Chloe’s gaze immediately darted straight to Diane, her smirk widening. “Oh my god. Wait. Are you also a virgin?” The girls started giggling, that irritating stupid laughter. They were literally mocking them in their faces. Lena felt so embarrassed her cheeks were turning red. “Let’s go,” Lena muttered. She grabbed her backpack, shoved her chair back so hard it scraped loudly against the floor, and stood up. Diane, stood up also and quickly followed. …………… Lena and Diane were the first to leave the class as soon as the bell rang. George met up with them at the gate, casually tossing his hands into his pockets as they walked toward the residence halls. “Look, I heard about what happened with Chloe,” George said, breaking the silence. He shrugged. "It’s honestly really no big deal. If it makes you guys feel any better… I haven’t had s*x either. Like, at all.” Diane aggressively slapped George’s arm. “Shush!” she quickly looked around the crowded walkway. “Do not say that out loud! Don’t ever say that again before someone hears you and starts another rumor.” George rolled his eyes, muttering something about girls being way too dramatic, but he kept his mouth shut. They finally reached the entrance of Lena’s dorm. “You good?" Diane asked, giving Lena a quick squeeze on the shoulder. "Yeah, just tired. I'm just gonna sleep it off," Lena said, forcing a small smile. She bid them goodbye and headed inside. Lena unlocked her door, stepped inside, and gently shut the door. Her room wasn’t like any dorm, it used to be a two room but they knocked the wall down for her. She had her own bathroom, washing machine, a mini fridge and even a couch. She didn't even bother flipping the light switch on the wall. She kicked off her shoes, dropped her heavy backpack and books onto the floor, and collapsed straight onto her bed. She lay there for a minute, staring at the ceiling, trying to shake Chloe's voice out of her head. But no matter how she tried the talk kept echoing. It triggered this restless, private curiosity she didn't want to admit she had. Lena pulled out her phone. The bright screen illuminated her face in the dim room as she opened a browser window, typing in things she’d never dare ask anyone out loud. Her heart beat a little faster. She turned off safe search and her eyes bulged at the sight of what she was seeing. The more she kept scrolling, the more her legs ached. Closing her eyes, she let the phone drop onto the mattress beside her. She took a slow breath, letting her mind wander, and slowly dipped her hand beneath the hem of her skirt. “hm..” Suddenly the light came on and Lena froze on the spot. Her hand still frozen beneath her clothes. "Hi."
