[William’s POV]
I stand in place, watching as Rachel and Abbie talk. When I left my class, I most certainly wasn’t expecting to find such a sight, especially after making the decision to keep some distance between myself and Abbie in hopes of lightening the stress that she was suddenly suffering due to mine and Austin’s coming into her life.
Of course, in the past, when things like this happened with the others who participated in our game, we didn’t give two shits, but Abbie was different. That much was obvious from the very beginning, and as much as I missed being around her, feeling her, hearing her laugh, getting to see her smiles, and just all-around basking in the warmth and glow that was her entire being, I wanted her to be able to live peacefully.
