episode 4

Eunji’s apartment was small but cozy, filled with the scent of lavender and the faint hum of an old refrigerator. She motioned for Jihoon to sit on the couch while she prepared the coffee. As he settled in, Jihoon couldn’t help but notice the personal touches around the room: photographs of Eunji with friends and family, bookshelves crammed with novels, and a soft blanket draped over the armchair. It was a glimpse into her world, one that felt strangely comforting. Eunji returned with two mugs of steaming coffee, handing one to Jihoon before sitting beside him. “I’m sorry if my place is a bit messy,” she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Jihoon smiled. “It’s perfect.” They sipped their coffee in companionable silence for a few moments. Jihoon could feel the weight of the night’s events still hanging over them. “Jihoon,” Eunji began, her voice hesitant. “There’s something about you that feels... different. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s like you’re hiding something.” Jihoon’s heart skipped a beat. He had known this moment would come eventually. “Eunji, there are things about me that are complicated. Things I can’t easily explain.”
