Later that day, mum called me and said she would be travelling with my sister. She said she would be leaving tomorrow. I was used to her travelling like that because she does that to make herself happy. When I finished dinner that night, I went into my room and Caroline couldn't leave my mind. Will she really harm me? Have I not crossed a boundary of no return? I kept turning on my bed and was shocked when my mum opened the door. Are you okay? She asked me. I answered her in the positive and she left saying goodnight. The next morning, Mum and my sister travelled (she travelled to Lagos). I ate breakfast as usual(rice and stew), did my chores and bathed. When it was around 12, I heard a knock. I was scared to open the door but after several knocks, I went to the door and opened it. What I saw next amazed me. I saw Caroline with someone. Not just anyone, the guy she was hugging the other time. I was amazed. She smiled and smiled more when she saw how amazed I was. She got me!! I asked them to come in. She had more confidence than before. The guy was a little taller than me. Maybe he was my agemate, I had no idea. They sat down and I went to sit after closing the door. After sitting down, I looked at Caroline in such a way she thought I was going to eat her. Why did I say yes in the first place? While I was thinking, Caroline said "meet my boyfriend". She said it so loud that I thought she has never dated before. I looked at the guy and said hey. He kept on looking at me and after a while said " Have we met before?" I looked at him because I was confused with his question and said No. Even Caroline was surprised. The guy said he knew me. "Anyways, my name is Dami" he added. I looked at him and shook hands with him. I told him I was Caroline's tutor and he looked surprised. Caroline was embarrassed. Gotcha!!! The guy said once again that he knew me. I was getting angry and was forced to ask what his surname was. He said "Olakunle". The name sounded familiar and it was in that moment I remembered so I asked " Wait, are you the son of Mrs olakunle, the owner of that supermarket around Lafe?" The guy nodded happily and said our mommies were friends. He added that we were friends back in the day when they were still in Lagos but he left lagos when we were 6. All these sounded like gibberish to Caroline who was looking at us like a stranger. She shouted "What's all these?" Dami told her he knew me and that we were friends. Caroline felt like dying. I smiled. The guy and I talked leaving her out of the discussion. Most were guy talk. She was very uncomfortable. After a while, he said he was going. I thanked him for their visit, saw them off and told Caroline not to forget her class tomorrow. The way she looked at me showed she was going to kill me. Kill me or not, I win!! After that day, she didn't come back again. Things became normal. I waited for her the first day, second day up to the fifth day. When I didn't see her, I moved on too. The funny thing is, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I noticed this issue between us was turning into a competition and it was awkward. So, I decided to go meet her in her house.
