The grounds around the Inn were a fury of activity all Saturday morning. I helped where I could, but I didn’t feel like I was doing much. By lunch, I’d already ditched them so I could eat and get ready to go to the book signing at Finley’s store. She asked all of us to come so she had at least some people there to meet the guest author.
I’d never read one of Athena McKenzie’s books, but Finley gushed over them. She said they were modern day classics with lots of steamy scenes and book boyfriends you wanted to pluck from the pages. With a recommendation like that, I was looking forward to getting one from the signing.
Alexis asked if she could come with me, but Athena was doing a reading and it was not going to be kid friendly. I promised Alexis another playdate with Amber soon
