Vows Written in AshHeroineSera Voss : a quietly fierce forensic accountant who has spent her life erasing the financial sins of powerful men, never realizing she is the last thread connecting two criminal empires.HeroNikolai Dravec :a cold, calculated crime lord who built his empire on vengeance and has waited seven years to make Sera his pawn, only to discover she is the one variable he cannot control.PremiseWhen Sera uncovers a money trail that threatens to expose Nikolai's carefully constructed empire, he gives her a brutal choice: marry him and bury the evidence, or watch everyone she loves disappear one by one. Trapped in a gilded cage of lies and lethal attraction, Sera begins to unravel the truth that Nikolai has hidden even from himself that her father's betrayal is the wound at the root of everything, and that she is both his revenge and his redemption. As the line between captor and protector dissolves, Sera must decide whether the man who stole her freedom is the only one who has ever truly seen her.Dark ElementCoerced marriage and captivity as a power transaction that slowly, dangerously transforms into obsession and genuine devotion blurring the boundary between protection and possession.Emotional CoreBoth Sera and Nikolai were abandoned by the one parent who was supposed to choose them, leaving each convinced that love is simply a weakness others exploit until each becomes the other's most devastating proof that it is not.

Vows Written in ash : the encounter
The devil doesn't always wear horns sometimes he wears a tailored suit and knows your darkest secret. Sera Voss learns this at 11:47 on a Tuesday night, alone in her office on the fourteenth floor, with a spreadsheet open on her screen and a glass of cold coffee at her elbow and the specific, nauseating feeling that she has just made a mistake she cannot unmake. It started the way these things always do quietly. A rounding error in a subsidiary ledger. A shell company in the Caymans that routes money through a Slovenian holding firm and then, like a river disappearing underground, simply ceases to exist on paper. Sera has spent eleven years finding the places where money goes to die, and she is very good at resurrection. She wishes, now, that she were worse at it. The number on her screen is not a rounding error. It is forty-seven million dollars, moved in increments of less than ten thousand, laundered through fourteen layers of corporate scaffolding so elegant it is almost beautiful and she has traced every thread back to its source. She has the account numbers. She has the routing codes. She has the name of the man who designed the architecture: a ghost entity called Dravec Holdings, which does not appear on any public registry, but which she has found referenced, buried three layers deep in a data archive, alongside her own father's signature. Her father has been dead for seven years. Sera sits very still. The city hums forty feet below her. The fluorescent light above her desk flickers once, twice, and steadies. She thinks about closing the file. She thinks about the particular mercy of not knowing, and how she forfeited it approximately forty minutes ago when she followed the thread past the point of plausible ignorance. She saves the file to an encrypted drive. Her hands are steady. She has always been better in a crisis than before one, which she suspects says something unflattering about her character.
