I transitioned back to the Mortal World and landed in my body hard. Gasped for air, sat up in bed.
Hours had passed here while I trained with Gia. The sun was already setting outside my window. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. Almost seven PM.
Marcus had called three times. Left two voicemails.
I listened to the first one.
"Kaiden, something weird is happening. Call me back."
The second was more urgent.
"I found something in the data. It's bad. Really bad. Call me as soon as you get this."
I called him back immediately. He picked up on the first ring.
"Where have you been?" Marcus asked. "I've been trying to reach you all day."
