Protect Magenta Town

“We are really sorry about the confusion.” The soldiers bowed their heads towards me.

I just looked at the soldiers and did not respond. After being harassed and accused like that, I might forgive them but I will not forget. It was really annoying at that time. I tried to remain calm.

“I am really sorry for the trouble my soldiers brought you.” Cosco said and bowed his head.

“It’s okay. I understand them. They just want to do their jobs.” I said sarcastically. I know I am acting like a b***h but what happened was a serious one. They pointed fingers at me for the things that I never even do.

“Well, to compensate you, Sir. I would like to invite you to our house.” Cosco said.

Should I agree with his offer? This is also my chance to know about this world. I agreed to what Cosco said and we headed to their house. It was not far from the Town Central, and it was near the Guild Hall. The style of his house was like those in the western movies that I watched. Well, most of the buildings here in Magenta Town. You can also see a lot of Earth attribute cores that make up most of the buildings.

“Welcome, Sir Kon.” Cosco opened the door. His house was pretty neat inside. It was simple yet captivating. The hue of earth and nature filled the entirety of the house.

“Welcome Sir.” The maid at the door said.

“Thank you.”

After that, the maid assisted me by going to the living hall of the house. I was greeted by warm smiles from the maids and Cosco’s wife.

“Please sit down.” Cosco said, and offered the seat near the fireplace. I followed what he told me and sat down. He asked one of his maids to get tea from their kitchen. Everyone became busy because of my arrival. Well, I am a stranger but the way they welcomed me was that they knew me already.

After a few seconds, the maid went back and was carrying a tray with warm tea. She poured the contents and gave it to me. I thanked the maid and she instantly left after that.

“About what happened, we really wanted to apologize to you Sir. The thing is, we are heightening our security because of the increased number of poaching beside the Magmanda’s cave. That place is the habitat of the Marigoso, a small creature with horns made from obsidian stones. Those creatures are very docile, that's why adventurers do not attack them. If you ask these creatures, they will give you a piece of their horns which they can regrow. But because of some greedy people, instead of asking the creatures, they steal it from them, hurting them in return. 

I understand now why they were so active about catching those criminals. What they were doing is unforgivable. Well, if the game goes live, that will be what the other players do just for the loot. I felt bad somehow for those docile creatures.

“Thank you for telling me, now I understand everything. If there is any way that I can help you, just tell me.” I said. 

“It’s okay, Sir. We don’t want to bother you with the problems of this town. By the way, is it okay to ask. Why are you inside the Magmanda’s cave?” Cosco asked. 

I don’t know what to tell Cosco. I can’t tell them that I was from a different world, that I died and my soul was sucked into this game. I have no choice but to lie to them. 

“Uh, I can’t remember what exactly happened to me. I just remember that I was being beaten by people, then after that, I just woke up in the cave. All I can remember was my name. I don’t know where I am from.” I lied. 

Everyone was shocked at what I told them. I can see that one of the maids was wiping her tears. She must have pitied me because of what I told them. I also saw how sad Cosco’s face became after hearing what I said. 

“Uh, I don’t know what to say. Hearing what happened to you, and now being accused for being one of the poachers was really heartbreaking. If you want Sir Kon, you can stay here with us as soon as you recover.” Cosco offered. 

I was about to say no but his wife insisted that I should stay with them. In the end, I agreed with their suggestion. Well, I took this as an opportunity to learn about the whole Sanctuary. Though some parts were missing, I have gathered enough information for my journey inside this world. 

After a few days of staying here, I got accustomed to how people live in Magenta town. They were so hospitable even though I was a stranger. After helping the maids in the kitchen, there was a loud sound coming from the outskirts of the Magenta Town. 

The bells around the town began to ring signaling the incoming danger. Then all of a sudden, a notification popped up.
