CHAPTER TWENTY FOURIkenna and Jennifer watched as Sean was taken away in the police vehicle.
“I am sorry.” Sean pleaded. “I didn’t know what came over me.” He looked at Jennifer. “Jennifer, please talk to them. You know me better; I wouldn’t do such a thing if I was in my right senses.”
His pleas were falling on deaf ears. Ikenna had already told them how Sean collected the bead from him and it was obvious that Jennifer’s life would remain in danger if Sean was left a free man.
Jennifer held tightly to Ikenna, and enjoyed the moment of euphoria that swept over her whole body.
“I didn’t know you had enough courage to hit a gun out of someone’s hand. You took a risk, you know?” Ikenna said to her.
