The moon glowed overhead as Caden followed Bast through the woods toward Velbridge. A few stray beams of light penetrated the canopy, but Caden still found it difficult to see the way ahead. Bast, on the other hand, strode with sure steps.
“You have some good eyes,” Caden said.
“There are some benefits to what Lord D’Lance has done to me, but they are few.”
