Mina watched the creature in disbelief. It walked on two legs like a human, but its appearance was reptilian. She remembered what the Enclave leader had said about Lord D’Lance mixing dragon eggs with humans to create an army. Although she knew the dragon hadn’t been lying, it still shocked her to see one of the things up close.
She was in the open, and before she could try to hide, the creature spotted her. It shouted something and ran toward her. Mina drew her sword and took a defensive stance. She sidestepped the creature as it reached her, his sword cleaving the air harmlessly. The facial features looked masculine, and she assumed it was a male. He struggled to stop his momentum, and Mina stepped behind him and landed a blow to the back of his knee with her foot.
