“She’s just up there!”
Caden led Bast and a contingent of draman into a clearing where he spotted Lireth. As soon as he’d been told that they had seen her enemies in the area, he knew there was trouble. He couldn’t explain how, but he knew exactly where to find her. As they entered the clearing, Caden skidded to a stop.
There were six other dragons. Five were silver and one was reddish copper. He was just as monstrously large as Lireth, and the metallic dragons had surrounded his master. The sight of so many of the beasts made his knees go weak and fear paralyzed him. He watched helplessly as the draman swarmed forward, attacking the enemy dragons. It was like watching ants try to take down a tree.
