"Saga?" I sat up in the hotel bed, rubbing my eyes sleepily as I looked around the room. Saga was sitting at the little table with an empty wine bottle, and she barely acknowledged me. I stretched, then slipped out of the bed and approached her to get one of the empty glasses for a drink of water. "You were asleep for a while," she said, without looking at me. Her tone was impossible to interpret, and I blushed slightly. "I don't usually spend so much of my time asleep," I mumbled, lamely. Saga looked up at me, her bright amber eyes piercing and intense. A smile flickered across her full lips; a glimmer of amusement that made me see why my father enjoyed her company so much.
