"Well..." Tanner was speechless. He thought back to the conversation between him and the young nurse last night. Since when had Rebecca started caring so much about him?
"Rebecca, are you okay?" At that moment, Freya strode into the hospital room.
She brought some fruits, most of which were cheap and blemished, likely bought at a discount before they spoiled. She set them down carelessly on a chair, crossed her arms, and gave Rebecca a smug look.
She began, "Mom and Dad asked me to tell you to come home. You're still their daughter, and they want you to take over the Pinnacle Group project again. The position of general manager is yours."
