The Fate of Abandoned

After the horrifying incident of the previous night, both Laila and Anna were terrified. Yet, despite their fear, countless questions haunted their minds. Why had the vampire come there? Why had he saved Anna? And why did he seem so concerned about her safety? Unable to find answers, Laila went to the window at around 1 a.m. Watching the darkness outside had become a secret habit of hers. She often observed the vampires from a distance, but tonight, something was different. She felt an inexplicable urge to see what was happening. Somewhere deep inside, Laila believed there was a hidden purpose behind everything—a secret that was slowly beginning to reveal itself. As she watched, she suddenly witnessed something terrifying. A tall vampire was fighting another powerful vampire. The battle was enormous, and neither of them seemed willing to surrender. Their movements were so swift that Laila could barely follow them. They possessed an almost unimaginable force—something that felt like a hurricane of supernatural power. Their strength was so immense that, if unleashed without restraint, it could destroy thousands of cities in an instant. Yet, strangely, neither of them seemed to truly want to kill the other. Laila watched in stunned silence. Then, in the blink of an eye, both vampires vanished with unbelievable speed. She hated that terrifying, unnatural speed. There was something about it that made her feel completely powerless. Realizing that she could do nothing from where she stood, Laila finally returned to the bedroom. She quietly went to bed beside Anna and tried to sleep. Anna looked unusually weak. Laila could tell that something was wrong with her, and perhaps that was why she had been feeling so uneasy all night. But one thing was certain—this was only the beginning. The questions in Laila's mind were multiplying, and the secrets surrounding the vampires were far from being revealed. Laila tried to keep sleeping, but something kept bothering her. Following her usual routine, she woke up at four o’clock. She had always wanted to know how long vampires stayed awake at night. But when she opened her eyes, she saw nothing. Had they already disappeared? Laila took a deep breath and got to work. She cleaned the house and prepared breakfast. Then she went to the bedroom and laid out their dresses, getting everything ready for both of them. After that, she jumped onto Anna’s bed. “ watermelon! Get up, from me or else I’m gonna kill you!” Anna said annoyingly.While she slowly opened her eyes and replied, “How? Last night, you were the one who was about to die”Laila replied. With a sudden movement, Anna sat upright and placed her hand on her neck. She climbed out of bed and walked toward the dressing table. “My neck?” she asked in surprise. “How can I even feel it?” She turned toward Laila. “Why I'm alive?” “What? What nonsense! ” Laila said furiously. “You’re the one who wasn’t at home!” Anna, being quick-witted, immediately replied, “Because I said you would pick me, but“Always so dumbheaded! Forget it!” Anna snapped. Those words only made Laila more furious. “Excuse me? I’m not the dumbheaded one here. You’re the one who disappeared without a word!” Laila shot back. Yeah, I’m late because I had some new books to settle in the library. And you—you were the one standing outside the bakery, trying to break the lock just for a night of chocolate dessert. Seriously? And don’t lie about it!” She pointed a warning finger at Anna. “I know how scared you were because that was your second attack, but you’ve always been careless. I honestly thought you were dead! I rode my bicycle for fifty miles just because of you, all in one hour!” Anna stared at her in disbelief. “Now I’m furious, and I'm not gonna tell you how you’re still safe. So, sorry, darling, but And now you’re going to leave without breakfast. Understand?” Before Anna could respond, Laila playfully pinched her cheeks and hurried into the kitchen. Anna stood there for a moment, speechless. Despite all the anger and teasing between them, she knew Laila's words came from genuine fear. After everything that had happened the previous night, neither of them could afford to be careless anymore. But somewhere beneath their playful argument, one unsettling question remained— Why had the vampires spared them?
