Prolouge: The Beginning
Sweat dribbled down Aliciana's forehead, the hot sun was blaring down on the small group in the wooded area. While the tree's offered some shade, it wasn't strong enough for the windless, humid heat. Aliciana was sticky, and she could hear her heart pounding in get chest.
Clinging to her mother, she held tightly onto her mother's shorts. Growls enclosed the area as her mother stood as a guard in front of her child, while her mate stood tall to the pack of hunters, his chest buffed and teeth barred as deep, thunderous growls rumbled in his chest. The opposing men refused to back down. One of the men in the back, guarded by the others, spoke up. "Give us the girl, and we will let you go. Otherwise, we will kill your mate, then you in front of her, dog. " his voice was raspy, as if he had been yelling for to long. His dry, ashy skin proved he needed something to drink as well.
The mother and father looked to each other momentarily, listening to words only they could hear. Aliciana's mom reached behind herself, placing a hand on Aliciana's shoulder and lower back guiding the five year old in front of her. Even at a young age, she knew the death glare she threw at them was well deserved.
"Hyram-" the mother began speaking to her mate, but the broken words clogged her throat before she could continue.
"Alice." he tells, kneeling down. Guns were still pointed at the rouge's, and the father had been brave enough to turn his back to him. "I'm so sorry." he tells and brushes a white lock of hair behind her ear and pressing his lips together. He seemed to be so disappointed in himself. And as a father, a protector, he should. He should hate himself for how easily he submitted to the hunters. Yet, Hyram- knew he couldn't win, and at least this would give them all a chance at life. While he didn't say it out loud, he promised himself he would come back and get his daughter. Once they were strong enough, he had decided.
"I'm going with the hunters, aren't I?" the small voice was soothing and delicate. While child like innocence lingered in her voice, her composure seemed mature for such a young child. Nodding his head, his blond locks bounced, and some baby hairs stuck to his wet cheeks. Alice couldn't tell if it was because of tears or sweat. "Yes, baby. Be strong, princess." It was the child's turn to nod, before turning her back to her father. She didn't let her own parents see the tear that fell, streaking her cheek.
Approaching the hunters, Alice was shaking. While she was holding herself surprisingly well, it was no surprise that fear and hurt eveoloped her body, so much so that it wouldn't allow her to take another step. The man who had been speaking walked threw the barrier of guards, and knelt down to Aliciana's level. Disgust was written all over his face as he grabbed her, and turned her to face her parents, just to watch as bullets pelted them. The noise echoed and she was unable to cover her sensitive ears as the man had pinned down her arms.
She was unable to close her eyes as the hunters continued to fill her parents bodies up with holes, frozen with fear. The fishing sound of new bullets hitting them mixed with the smell of blood was making the child queasy.
Bullets only stopped once the bodies were unrecognizable, and the clothes were basically non existent, save for the cloth that fell from the air and scattered the ground. Unable to move, she felt herself be elt go, before being pushed towards her mother and father, stumbling close to their dead bodies. The hunter grabbed the back of the child's head, harshly gripping her hair before shoving her face into the bloodied, hole ridden chest of her father. "I'd hurry up and eat, b***h, the longer this takes, the more you'll hurt." he pulled her back up, and she took a sharp inhale of air, soothing her aching lungs, only to choke when the man shoved chunks of meat into her mouth, and covered her mouth, plugging her nose. Aliciana was forced to eat her parents while the men laughed.
Even after she was taken to secluded home, and placed into a small, dark cellar she didn't cry, just leaned numbly onto the cool, stone all. The men who had brought her didn't stay, just handed her off and left her with her other hunters.
Still covered in her parents blood and trapped by the smell of their death, the child's body finally gave up, releasing her into a deep, haunting sleep.
Clanging. Clanging is woke her up in the morning, the child glanced around frantically and backed against the wall. Then, she remembered. Looking threw the bars of her cell she was startled by a man.
"Good morning, little rouge." he says. Aliciana pushes herself to her feet, walking over to him. Her small hands gripped the bars, white knuckle protruding as she did so. Anger took over, the fire burned bright behind her eyes and threw clenched teeth she said "I am going to rip out you eyes, and make me watch as I scalp you, break your skull, and feast on your brain." With widened eyes, he gave an astonished chuckle. "such a strong promise for such a young child." he said, hit she had kept it, and was able to kill him when she was twelve years old, and escape from the horrible testing grounds.
