A slap from fate
~JADE~
Ryker was the guy I wanted to give my virginity to.
I had fantasized about the day I would tell him on his birthday how much I loved him and how he was the only man I'd ever want to be with, regardless if we turned out to be mates or not.
When the day came though, it didn't happen like I had expected. As a matter of fact, it became the worst turning point of my life.
“Why would I be with someone like you?” Ryker had spat out venomously, rejecting my confession with a disgusted tone as he threw aside the cake I had spent the entirety of my day making.
Everyone immediately bursted out laughing as they pointed at me.
“Why did she think he would want to be with a fat pig like her?”
“She must have mistook his kindness for love. Such a stupid trash” Everyone mocked and hurled insults my way but my eyes stayed glued on the man I had loved since I knew what love was.
Ryker and I had been friends and he had treated me better than any one so I thought…
“Don't ever say stupid s**t like that again” He muttered coldly and the laughs only grew louder as tears rolled down my cheeks.
But the Ryker I knew would never say such a thing to me? Had I read him wrong?
“Ryker babe, don't let this fat pig ruin your day. I have a huge surprise for you” Sienna, the girl that had been hell bent on making my life a living hell, uttered as she wrapped her arms around his arm and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Usually, he'd shrug her off but he was letting her touch him now, letting her kiss him.
“Ryker…”
“Don't” He warned then he turned around and walked away, leaving me shattered and vulnerable.
That was the last time I saw Ryker Frost and that was the beginning of my nightmare in high-school.
He was the high-school golden wolf. Everyone looked up to him due to his Alpha Aura so when he disappeared from school the next day, everyone blamed me.
I became a target.
“You b***h!” Sienna screeched as she slammed my head into the iron door. Blood blurred my vision as I tried my best to crawl away but she just dug her heels into my hand.
I let out a pain filled scream that only seemed to fuel her actions.
“Because of you, Ryker is gone and for the team of your miserable time here, I'll make sure you pay for that. I'll make sure you bleed”
And she kept to her words, every single last word.
“Jade” The sound of my mother's voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
I quickly hid my shaky hands behind me as I slowly turned to her, and she frowned, easily seeing through me.
“Do you really want to do this?” She whispered with pity and understanding.
I let out a sigh as I glanced out the window.
Even after all these years, even after I went to the gym, changed my hair color to red and did everything I could to move past my horrible past, the mere thought of it made me shiver.
It had been so bad that the Alpha had to take me home himself and beg my mother to home-school me.
My mother has been supportive in every way but I couldn't keep living like this.
“I need a change of scenery mom. It's the only way I can get better” I murmured and I could feel her gaze on my back.
“Your father isn't an easy person to live with, Jade. The path he chose in life is a dangerous one and I don't want you getting caught up in it…”
“Mother, if I stay here any longer then you're going to wake up one day and I'll be dead” I interjected as I turned back to her.
She gasped.
“Don't say things like that…”
“It's the truth. I need to leave, I need a breath of fresh air. This place is depressing” I muttered.
Plus, I missed my father.
Years ago, he had walked out on us after my mother hadn't agreed to go along with him. He was tired of the wolf hierarchy and didn't want to be subjected to it so he made his own group of rebels.
They were Rebel Rogue bikers and were the enemy to most packs due to the fact that they didn't submit to the authorities of Alphas.
I loved what my father stood for because the pack rules had never favored me. It was time to go against them, time to be stronger.
I'd never tell my mother that though.
“But you'll be leaving me. What am I supposed to do without you?” She asked as a team slipped down her cheeks.
I immediately walked up to her and pulled her into a hug, breathing her scent in.
“When I'm better, I'll be back” Hopefully, with my father.
I wanted them back together, I wanted our family whole again.
She let out a sigh as she pulled away before placing a white envelope on my hand.
“I already spoke to the Alpha and Your Dad. He promised me that there would be someone waiting by the gates to take you to the clubhouse, whatever that means” She said softly before placing my hair behind my ear.
“Be safe and don't do anything if you don't want to. Tell me if your Dad gives you trouble and I'll march my way up to him and shove My feet down his ass” She uttered and I giggled.
“I'll be fine mother, I love you”
“Love you too, stink bug”
After that, she helped me load my luggage into the car and I looked back at the house that I had hid in for the majority of my life.
Couldn't even lie that I was going to miss this place.
“Let's go” My mother said and I smiled at her then got into the car.
The closer we got to the gates, the more at ease I felt. In fact, the Aura smelt better, sweeter.
Like everything was finally going to be okay.
“That should be the person your Dad sent to take you there,” My mother suddenly said, and I lifted my head to glance at the person and my blood drained instantly.
No…
There was no way…
“Mate!” My wolf slammed into me harshly and my heart sank.
No, dear goddess no…
“Ryker?”...
