Rain's pov

I wake as the car I’m in comes to an abrupt stop. Thomas quickly grabs me and drags me across the lawn at my second home down to the dungeons. I can already smell the stench of blood and death. I hear cries from men, women and children who I know don’t deserve to be here. Please, sir, let me go. I plead with Thomas. I will never let you go again. I should have known that f*****g maid was an imposter when she was so nice to you and the brat. Now the next time you leave it will be because you are dead. I close my eyes and pray that Adrian, Landon and Amber are ok. Your mate better not try to come here and take you either or I can make him watch as I take your head off, then I will do the same to him. Silent tears are all I can muster as I’m thrown into a dark cold cell he then turns to leave me here. I sigh in relief when he doesn’t beat me. I am scared though that whatever he has planned will be much worse than a beating. Our mate will come, my wolf whispers to me. If he is alive, I know he will, but whatever Thomas hit him with took him down. He had to have a witch spell it. "I know I saw". I want a name; she says plainly. I didn’t before but now I do my wolf complains. "Why now"?  I don’t want to die a nameless wolf. "Do you have a name in mind"? How about Storm? I smile at her and tell her I like that just fine. Then darkness takes over again.

Adrian's pov

"Adrian! Wake up! Wake up! Rain is gone!" I wake in a panic, "what? Gone? Who the f**k was that? I didn’t see his face before he hit me".

"Alpha Thomas, amber says, He hit you with a f*****g witch stick. They used to use them all the time in the bayou to keep in slaved wolves in line."

Amber's Pov

Adrian looks at me with an eyebrow raised. I shrug;

"I have been researching the bayou since you assigned me to Rain. I wanted to know about her home, hoping to understand her way a little better."

Adrian nods, wanting more information." The witches there are strong Adrian. They control the wolves and the vamps. Except for one pack, Rains pack. Rain's father Tom was an Alpha, and her mother Henna was a Lycan princess. They ruled without the help of the council, or other packs, and they flourished. They finally talked her Tom into joining one of the council meetings that was being held at Black Blood Pack. The Alpha there is Thomas Black. Anyway, Tom and Henna went to the meeting. The rumors are that Tom refused to join in in the meeting and refuse any help from his pack. They planned to leave the next day but Henna went into labor with Nick and died Tom supposedly hung himself that night, leaving their children with Thomas. There was no funeral, no bodies. Thomas wouldn’t dare trespass on your land so I think he ambushed us here so he could take Rain back to the Black blood pack thinking with the witch stick he could take on the 3 of us without getting killed himself."

"Oh, he will die!"

Adrian growled trying hard not to lose control at Drin and Drau are clawing to go get their Mate.

Taking deep breaths to calm the 3 of us, I say we need a plan. "I will get my f*****g mate and god help any man wolf or witch that stands in my way"

Rain's Pov

"Rain, Rain! My wolf growls, wake up."

Just as I will my eyes to open, I see a large dirty man walk into my cell. He grabs me, tossing my body into the wall behind me. He attached chains with wolfs bane to my wrists and I know what is coming. I beg him not too, but I know it won’t do any good. Snap the wipe hits my lower back that’s for thinking you can run away, then my upper back That’s for being stupid. I grit my teeth, trying to fight the pain, not wanting to show this asshole any fear but…. Blood is now running from my wound as he continues his assault. I can’t help but scream in pain as he hit me over and over. Storm tells me to hold on to fight, but I can’t I feel myself slipping. I think of Adrian. I close my eyes and picture his beautiful face. I imagine his big arm around me, holding and protecting me. The assault is finally over as the man unhooks my wrists and throws me to the corner of the cell. He turns and leaves with a single word. All I can do is cry and pray they didn’t get to Nickolas. He would survive an assault like this.

"Please moon goddess; don’t let them get to Nickolas."

"Lucy has there been any trouble?"

"I will explain when I get there. Is Nickolas ok?"

"Yeah he is right beside me."

"Don’t let him out of your sight."

"Ok".

I mind link Charlie letting him know what happened and ask him not to tell Lucy yet because I don’t want her to worry.

"Let’s go." We change and run in wolf form to reach the pack territory in half the time. I mind link the pack warriors to get ready for war. "We will bring hell down on the black blood pack at sunrise." We arrive at the pack house where everyone is waiting my command. I go straight to my office, not bothering to cover up before I do.

"Charlie gather every fighter I have. We are heading out in an hour."

"Adrian wait there is more you need to know. Nickolas um has powers similar to yours."

"What?"

"He knew something was wrong with Rain. I mean I know they can mind link and all but it's more than that it’s like he can feel her pain. He has cried all evening."

I shake my head in confusion.

" I don’t think it wise Alpha to just go in guns blazing before we know why these two need protection".

"I won’t leave her there."

"I’m not asking you too".

"We will go in, take her and go to the cabin."

"I have a lead on Agnes. Maybe she can shed some light on to all the shit."

"Ok, we still leave in an hour. The three of us will go get her, You Landon and I.Instruct the warriors to surround the territory, nobody gets in."

"Done", Charlie says as he stands to leave.

I run my hands through my hair and whisper " I’m coming, Rain. Hold on, baby."

We arrive as planned at sunrise and I can feel her distress. I feel her pain as if it were my own. She is scared, sad, and injured badly. We are now trespassing on the Black blood territory, but no guards are patrolling.

"What the f**k Charlie, is this guy so full of himself he doesn’t think to have guards patrolling?"

Charlie shrugs as he notices the same quietness that I do. Then I see it. They have a one lone large wolf standing guard outside their dungeon door. I smell her blood on him already. I let Drin take over completely and lunge for him. Drin takes him to the ground, but he is strong he quickly recovers the assault and lunges toward my neck. I duck, and he slams into the building. He slumps further to the ground and snarls his teeth and lunges again. I reach out and grab his throat and rip his head off. Slinging his dead body to the side like a piece of trash. Charlie and Landon right behind as we enter the building, I know I’m closer to her. I can feel her heart as its breaking. Then I see her curled up against the wall on the ground. Her beautiful dress is torn and bloody. Drau is in a rage, clawing to get out to his mate, but I hold him back. He would kill everyone here, guilty or not. I quickly go to her as Charlie and Landon gasp at the sight of her lifeless, beaten body.

I whisper to her "Rain, honey? I am here." I gently as I can pick her up in my paws, still in wolf form. She opens her eyes just for a moment and manages a weak smile. I can’t help but growl in relief.

Charlie says as we exit the building "we have trouble coming we need to go Adrian, get her out of here.Landon and I will run the opposite direction to lead them off your trail."

"Don’t let them catch you. Thomas won’t hesitate to kill you."

"Oh come on Alpha, you know we are faster than anyone in the black blood pack. This is a piece of cake".

Adrian nodded in agreement and took off toward the crescent moon territory, which is a few hours away. The cabin is deep in the mountains of northern Michigan. He doesn’t know if she will make it that far, but he has to try. After an hour, he stops to let Drau out to heal her wounds. He growls as he heals each gash on her back.

"I want that bastard dead Adrian."

"I do to Drau".

"Then why is he not?"

"Because I need more information before I wage war. I would be stupid leading our pack to war without all the information why they want her and what happened to her parents. Also, I need to know more about Nickolas’s powers. I think this may be bigger than just killing Thomas".

Drau finishes and bends to smell and nudge her spot waking her before he lets me take back over. Her eyes flutters open.

"Adrian" she says weakly,

"No love, Drau, how you are feeling I growl".

"Better, Sore, I um think." she says a little shaky she is scared of me and I don’t blame her. I whimper and she reached her small hand out to touch my face.

"I am not scared of you Drau. I am um she blushes, turning her face away. Fascinated"!  She weakly says.

"Oh." Is all the big bad lycan can come up with. The few people who have seen Drau, are raked with fear. But not her he thought to himself.

"Uh you are not going to be able to turn. Your injured bad and it will take a few hours for my blood to heal you. I am going to have to carry you the duration stopping only if we have to. We have people on our tail".

She shakes her head giving me her full trust to keep her safe when I hear her say.

"where is Nickolas? Is he safe?"

"Yes Baby, He is waiting with Lucy at the cabin."

She breaths out the breath she had apparently been holding. Relief washes over her as she snuggling into me.

"Thank you she says".

I pull her to me briefly and take off with her in held tightly in arms. I curse the goddess for letting her get hurt. I would kill her too if I knew how to find her. I think as I’m running as fast as I can. Rain squirms a little when I let rage start to take over my mind like she can sense my thoughts and I smile. I am going to love watching her find herself. Grow into whatever it is she is. Then it hit me. Me! Drau, I love this woman. Adrian and Drin both say in unison Duh we all do. I roll my eyes at them and refocus on getting her to safety. As we get closer I hear Charlie and Landon mind link me letting me know they got away and are going to go follow the lead on Agnes. I mind link them back and approve letting them know we are close to the cabin. She wakes just as the cabin comes into sight and I stop to let her stand while I change and let Adrian take over. But before I do I have to touch her once more. I pull her to me wrapping my arms around her once more when she reaches up and kisses me on the cheek.

"Did you see that Drin? I think our mate likes me better than you, I chide."

"Ha we will see asshole, we will see."

Adrian takes over and pulling her tighter and kisses her gently on her lips.

"f**k off assholes she likes me best."

Rain's Pov

We enter the cabin through the fighters surrounding the cabin. Each one, bowing as we pass. One of the men even says to me

"welcome home Luna. I am glad you’re safe."

I manage to say "thank you" before Adrian pulls me to the bedroom he gently lays be on the bed and kisses my forehead gently.

" I will bring Nickolas in ok?" I shake my head and wait.

I hear Adrian telling Nickolas that I am hurt and not to jump on me when he goes in the room to visit. "Who hurt Wrain, Adrian?"

"Um, I will let Rain tell you what happened ok?"

I imagine he is rubbing Nick hair about now.

"Ok, are you ready to go in now?"

"Yes, Nick says with his little shaky voice that I love so much".

The door opens and Nickolas is moving slowly over to my bedside.

"Wrain"? I look down at him and smile.

"Yes, Nick"

. "Are you gonna be ok?"

"Yes baby. Thanks to Adrian, we will be just fine. I am already healing, so please don’t worry."

"But I’m scared, Wrain"!

"Of what honey?"

"The monsters"!

I reach for his little hand, " Nickolas guess what?"

"What" he says with a small smile.

"You never have to be scared again."

"How do you know that?"

"Because I trust Adrian to do whatever necessary to make sure we are safe."  Nickolas hugs us both and ask if he can sleep with me tonight. I assure him he can. But I needed a minute to talk to Adrian.

"Can you go find Lucy and ask her for a snack before bed?"

He shakes his head and smiles leaving the room.  I think it is time he knows about Nickolas and me.
