Adrian’s pov

I watch in amazement as she turns. Her wolf is just as beautiful as her human. She is a solid white wolf with a silver streak down her back. Her coat is actually very healthy looking to be as malnourished as her and Nickolas are, I can’t take my eyes off of her. Drin wants out to meet his mate, but I hold him off for a few more minutes to make sure she is ok. She is fully changed and walks over to me, sniffing my neck. I let her; a smile reaches my lips as she licks my spot that she will soon mark. Drin’s whimpering now. Fine! Drin. I change quickly into my wolf and let him get to know his mate. Drin is a very large solid Blake wolf. He saunters over to her and sniffs his mate. She immediately plays with him, circling him, wagging her tail as he playfully does the same. A few minutes later, she takes off running the court yard. The court yard is about 5 acres that is fenced in with concrete walls 20 feet high, I know she can’t get out so I let her run. She is enjoying herself as she comes to a stop at the rose garden to sniff the flowers. Drin bites one off and pouts as she runs again. He spits it out and takes off after her again. We run and play for about an hour. I don’t want her to overdo it so I change back behind a tree quickly putting a pair of pants and a shirt on giving her the hint to do the same and she does. She steps out from behind the tree, smiling. She walks straight up to me and kisses my cheek. Thank you, All I could muster was your welcome.

I wanted her so bad I can taste it. My d**k has been hard since I laid eyes on her in the forest last night. I step back slowly before I take her and make her mine before she is ready.

"Want some lunch," I ask.

“Um, are you sure you have enough? I don’t want to impose any more than we already have without somehow earning it”.

Laughing, I say "oh you will earn it my love," I joke but she looks confused still.

"You are my mate Rain, that means everything I have is also yours. The house, the land, the pack and yes, the food. You will be part of every decision I make from now on, honey. You don’t have to earn anything here, all you have to do is to be my mate." Tears are filling her eyes now,

“What if I am not a good mate?" I cradles her face

”You will be a wonderful mate. Now we have some decisions to make.What do you want for lunch, Pizza or Sandwich?"

“Really, that’s the decisions to make?"

"Um, yes I get very serious over my food, now which is it?"

“Laughing, I say ok fine then Pizza."

"Pizza it is."

Rain's Pov

A short while later Amber comes into the dining room with a large pepperoni pizza that smelled so good. I waited until we both had a piece and took a bit. I closed my eye and savored the moment. I hadn’t had a piece of pizza in years and this, this is so good I thought to myself.

"Yes, it is."  I hear him say. I open one eye to look at him.

“How do you do that? Did I think out loud or something?"

He smiles and says, "yeah, honey, something like that."

I forget it and go back to eating my pizza when Nickolas comes running in, jumping into my lap.

"Hey kid, did you have fun with Lucy?"

“Um, yes sir, Alpha”.

Adrian reaches for Nick saying "Adrian is what you call me, ok?"

Nick shakes his head as Adrian places him in the chair next to mine "Hungry?" he asks.

Nick shakes his head no. “Lucy bought me some wunch, then we had ice cream”. He said with a cheeky grin.

"That sounds yummy" I said smiling a grateful smile at Lucy.

“Thank you all. After arriving last night, I was so unsure of our future. Now I’m sitting a table eating food and feeling like I am already part of a family." Adrian’s eyes darken just a little so I know he wasn’t mad.

"You and Nickolas are part of this family Rain."

Nickolas squeals “yes"pulling his arm down into a fist.

We all laugh and finish our lunch. We make plans to get together with Lucy and Charlie one night to go have dinner so I can get to know everyone a little better. Suddenly, I am tired. I touch Adrian’s arm and say. " Do you mind if I go lie down for a bit. I think maybe I have over done it just a little today."

“Sure" smiling at me,  "I will be up in a little while to check on you”. I nod.

"Come on Nick, let’s go take a nap." Lucy protests, asking me, "Do you mind if he keeps me company for a little longer?"

“Um, sure, I guess if it’s not too much trouble”. Lucy smiles big and waves me off saying you could never be too much trouble could you kid.

I wake up and it’s dark already; I feel nervousness set in because Nick isn’t in the bed with me

"Oh my god, how long have I been asleep?"

I hear something over on the couch when I sit up to look. I see Adrian and Nick fast asleep. I move to get Nick so he doesn’t disturb Adrian’s sleep, but as I try to stand, something’s wrong. My head is pounding; I can’t seem to get focus. All I see next are black dots in my vision, then nothing!

Adrian hears me before I crash to the floor and he catches me just before my head takes another hit.

Adrian’s pov

"Hey, Rain Wake up, honey! Rain?"

I can hear him, but I can’t seem to open my eyes or respond to him with words. I feel him pick me up and go out the door with my lifeless body in his muscular arms. Lucy is already heading. This was to get Nick. I hear the urgency in her voice as she says "what’s happened Adrian?"

"I don’t know go to Nickolas. We’re going to Wren."

"Ok, Don’t worry about Nick, Carlie and I will take care of him."

Wren checks her out and tells me her concussion had worsened. The crack in her skull has gotten larger.

"What The f**k Wren, she changed, she should be almost healed by now, it’s been hours since she changed."

“Forgive me Alpha, but she is too weak for that right now. She should not be changing right now at all. I don’t think you understand how fragile she is”.

"Ok, so now what?"

“She needs rest Adrian; She needs to be taken care of here for the next few days”.

"Ok, fine! But I am not leaving her."

“That’s fine, I won’t make you she winked at me knowing full well that nobody can make me do a damn thing if I don’t want to”.

"Look Adrian, I am just as worried as you. I know what she means to our pack and to our Alpha, I promise she will be fine, just let her rest." She said patting me on my shoulder as she leaves the room.

I mind link Charlie. I let him know everything and told him not to let Nickolas out of his sight.

"I think these two are what we are supposed to be protecting. But where the hell did Agnes go if they are here. I thought she would accompany them on the trip."

“Ok, Yeah I will not take my eyes off him."

I haven’t questioned Landon yet because I have been so caught up in this perfect she wolf but I will and he will explain to me why in the hell he put his hands on my mate!

It’s late and all I want to do right now is listening to Rain breathe. It just makes me feel better. I reach for her hand and just listen. Sometime during the night I fall asleep in the chair beside her bed and I sleep for the first time in years, I am fully and soundly asleep. I don’t know how long we stayed that way, but I woke to Wren talking with Rain. Wait, what? She is awake! Her eyes widened as she smile’s innocently at me. "good morning Alpha."

I noticed our hands were still intertwined and I can feel the sparks of electricity everywhere our skin touches. I know she feels it too. Her face blushes as she turns her eyes back to Wren to listen to the doctor’s orders. I grin at her embarrassment. She is so beautiful when she blushes. I feel myself harden just thinking about her, and apparently Wren notices because she gives me a raised eyebrow.

"Can I speak to you in private Alpha?" Rising from my chair, I say "sure" and follow her out the door to her office.

She asks permission to speak candid. I nod, giving it to her.

"Have a seat, Alpha; You will not like what I have to say."

“What is it Wren, Don’t treat me like some schoolboy who has a childhood crush”?

"Fine, I won’t. You better not hurt that girl. I will kick your ass if you do. After running many tests, I have found that her last pack abused her badly; she still has some scars; I am sure you will one day soon see them too. Her body will not stand to take much more of whatever she has been through. You also can not mate with her yet, Alpha."

“What why? Mating with me can only strengthen her”.

"Yes, normally you are right, but she differs from any wolf I have ever examined. It’s almost like she isn’t even a wolf."

“Well, I have seen her wolf, so that’s absurd, Wren”.

"I know I am just stating she doesn’t heal like a wolf and there is more. While you two were asleep, I came in to check on her. She opened her eyes, and they were glowing an ice blue color unlike anything I have ever seen. But she was still unconscious as I tried to speak to her, but she just watched me, then closed her eyes again."

“Ok, so it could have been her wolf right?"

No, I don’t think so, trust me, you would have notice them when you and she went running. Just be careful with her. I have a hunch she is something very special."

“I would never hurt my mate, Wren. I would hope you know that by now”.

"I do, but I still feel like I need to watch out for my friend and my Alpha."

Nodding my head, I stand. “Can I take her home, please”?

"Not yet, maybe tomorrow if her skull has healed." Shaking my head, I turn to head back to Rain, Closing the door behind me as I enter her room, I mind link Charlie.

"I need Intel on that Agnes woman that sent me that letter. I need to speak with her."

“Ok, I will get it to you ASAP”.

Rain is sleeping once again. So I sit quietly and talk with Charlie and Drin. "Charlie, Wren saw something that could promise to be a problem. I am not sure without confirmation, but I think our girl here is a Lycan princess, only she isn’t old enough for her Lycan yet."

I would know because not too long ago I met my Lycan Drau. He just doesn’t communicate much yet, I don’t think he likes Drin too much. Just her wolf has emerged and was forced out.

“Have you asked her how old she is”?

"No, but when she wakes, I will."

Just then she stirs, and I cut Charlie off. I let Drin stay because he is worried too. Her eyes open, and she blushes immediately.

"Why are you always staring at me?"

“Hum, I don’t know, maybe I am just trying to figure you out”. Her eyes darken a little and her hands begin to shake.

“Hey no, Nothing that you need to fear. It’s a form of communication. I’m trying to figure out how old you are”.

oh I am not really sure how old I am. I know that Nickolas is 4. I have counted his years. But my parents never told me of my birthdays. It is not a tradition where I am from."

“Hum, OK maybe Wren can help with this." I mind link her to join us.

Wren knocks and enters the room.

"Wren can you tell us how old you think Rain is?"

Wren raises her eyebrows. “I can, but why can she not just tell us”?

"Because she doesn’t know. It was not custom to her family pack to keep up with age."

“Oh, OK. Never heard of that before," looking at the Alpha with concern.

"Can I check in your mouth Rain I won’t hurt you I just need to check your canines?"

She slowly opens her mouth to let Wren check her fangs. Wren smiles, saying "she is 19. Almost 20 by her fangs."

"Thank you wren," I say, patting her on the back, mostly pushing her out the door. After I close Wren out, I sit beside of Rain wanting to know more but I need to talk to Agnes first. I don’t want to tell Rain yet, but she is in for some big changes if I am right. She will be the strongest female in the world above all species. She will also be a target. Everyone will want her powers, and if they have a strong enough witch, they might take them. We have a secret weapon, though. I thought. Nobody knows about all of my powers except for Drin and Drau, and well Charlie knows some of it. I take a deep breath of relief and watch the TV that is now on. I was so deep in thought I didn’t even realize she had turned it on.

She looks at me questionably?

"Sorry I was just thinking about you naked." Her eyes widen, and she blushes.

“Why would you be doing that?"

"Because that’s what mates do, we imagine each other naked, then we imagine all the things we want to do to our mate while naked."

Rain’s pov

“I think I am scared to know what that means”.

"Has nobody ever taught you about what happens when you find your mate, Rain? "

I shake my head no; I get scared because his eyes turn from blue to black in an instant. Then I remember what he said. That his change for a lot of different reasons. So I calm down.

“Will you tell me”?

He takes my hand in his, and the shock is there again. He then closes the distance and touches his lips to mine slowly licking around my lips begging with his tongue for me to part them for him, I do and he deepens the kiss; I felt hot all over. I feel wetness between my legs and I pant. He pulls back opening his eyes and they’re black, I mean solid black just looking at me.

Wren knocks. He just smiles, his eyes turning to normal, still holding my hand as he growls "come in!"

Wren slowly opens the door with a disapproving look on her face,

"I just wanted to check your vitals one more time before I head home for the night."

“Oh, OK, sure."

I say with a sideways look at Adrian. After she does my examination, she says my vitals are good and she will leave her assistant to watch over me till morning.

"If there are no complications, you can go back to the pack house. But you are on restriction for a few more days, so absolutely no strenuous activity. You got that." she says looking directly at Adrian.

He throws his hands in the air playfully saying “yes ma’am” like he is bowing to her.

I giggle at him, we laugh for a minute. Wren rolls her eyes, tells her goodbyes to us and leaves.

It’s back to just me and Adrian.

"So what do you want to know now?"

I blush, wanting him to continue what he was doing, but I am too embarrassed to ask. He smiles like he knows what I’m thinking and just slides into bed beside me wrapping his arm around me holding me tight. We lay there watching something funny on TV for a while and let sleep takes over. I don’t know why but it feels like to most restful sleep I have ever had in my life being in his arms.

The next morning Wren wakes us clearing her throat unhappy that Adrian is in bed with me, she swats at him telling him to let me heal. He growls getting up going over to the chair. I instantly miss his body near me. I shake at the thought of feeling so cold and alone suddenly. He notices and reaches his hand out to me. I take it, feeling warm again. I smile and look at him. He smiles at me and we wait for Wren to check me out.

"OK, I am going to release you, but like I said with restrictions at least for two days!"She scolded. I agree to the restrictions for the next two days, which are lots of rest. No running, no jumping, no stress, no training, NO PLAY. She leaves us to gather our things and we head out.

Adrian insists on carrying me to the pack house which I don’t feel necessary,

"Wren didn’t say I could not walk Adrian,"

“I know, I just like having you in my arms”. "

I smile, shaking my head. I lay my head on his shoulder thinking about how much my life has changed in the short few days I have been here. I was so scared when Agnes told me we need to run. Now they would have to kill me to get me to leave. I snuggle close to his neck where my breath is slow and steady, he stops. I feel him tighten his hold on me and he lowers me to my feet. He cups my face in his enormous hands, gently lifting my face up to meet his gaze.

"I will not make it two days if you breathe on my neck that way again, do you understand?"

I feel a little empowered and my Wolf jumps up and down at this point.

“What do you mean?" I say to him honestly.

He shakes his head and hoists me up in his muscular arms and finishes the short walk to the door where he puts me on my feet again. He opens the door to let me go in. He then helps me over to the oversized couch in the sitting room where everyone is waiting. Nickolas comes to sit with me and snuggles to my side.

"I missed you Wrain."

I missed you to buddy. Did you have fun with Lucy? "

Yes! Lucy is my very bestest fwriend."

We all talked for a bit, Lucy was filling me in on all Nickolas and Lucy pranks that have been played on poor Charlie. "HA!" Lucy said, that’s what you get when you ignore your mate for weeks. Charlie mind links with her and she instantly blushed with a sly smile. They quickly decided Nickolas time was over. They rushed up the stairs laughing and giggling to their room. I blush, embarrassed at the wonder of what they are doing in that room. Adrian is watching me with a very content look on his face. I start to ask and then think better of it, not wanting to embarrass myself any further.

Adrian’s pov

"Are um you guys hungry?"

Adrian finally says. God, if she does not stop blushing I will not make it two damn days I can’t.

Rain’s pov

Adrian volunteers to go make sandwiches for us and quickly gets up to go to the kitchen. I sit there talking with Nickolas, asking him about all the fun he had with Lucy. He looks at me with his big beautiful blue eyes.

"Wrain, Lucy says we live here forever with the Alpha Adrian."

I shake my head and say well guess what! “The Alpha Adrian and I are mates and I don’t think we will ever have to leave”.

I hear a growl coming from behind us. I tense, pulling Nick onto my lap. I turn a little to face the noise and I see a beautiful she wolf snarling at me and Nick.

"What the f**k did you just say, little wolf?"

“Um, I am the Alpha’s mate”.

"Are you sure about that because he was mating with me just the other night on HALLOWEEN?"

She says coming toward me looking ready to kill me. I quickly turn to Nick and put him behind me on the couch. Then I feel it. The burn across my face, her claws digging into my cheek, blood squirting all over the place.

"Stop!" I hear a fierce growl. Holding my face, I look to see Adrian holding the girl by her hair up off the floor.

"If you ever touch my MATE! Again, I will rip your guts from your body and feed them to the prisoners. Do you understand me, Alissa?"

“Yes, she says crying now”.

"Get the f**k out of this house."

He throws her toward the door.

"Don’t f*****g come back he growls turning to look at me."

I back closer into the couch when I realize that’s not Adrian, "Drin?" I question.

He shakes his head as to say no. I start to cry when he reaches out to touch my face. He nicks his skin with his claw and lets his blood drip into the wound. It heals almost as fast as it appeared. He then touches where the ugly scar is and says that part will take a day or two but will heal just the same.

“Oh, ok” I say, too shocked to say much more. He bends down and puts his lips to mine very gently as he says.

"Hi Rain, I’m Drau."

“H-Hi, I mean nice to meet you”.

He smiles and licks his lips closing his eyes letting Adrian take over again. Nickolas wriggles out from behind me on the big couch. He looks like he had a million questions that I just can’t answer right now. Adrian holds his head as if he is in pain for a moment and then comes to sit beside of me and Nickolas. I whisper to him. "I think you have been possessed."

He gives me a sideways glance before saying

“no that was Drau, he is also part of who I am. I know you don’t understand, but I will explain it all to you”.
