Title: OLD BAD HABIT

Once upon a time there was a girl named Pearl and her best friend was Sandra they knew each other since childhood and since then they had remained inseparable growing up the attended the same primary and secondary school the were really close after secondary school the got admission into the same university and after four years in the university the graduated from the university and the were posted for their service in the same place after one year of service in Ibadan the went back to Lagos to see their separate homes to see their parents Sandra was from a rich family and was always full of her self she taught she could buy any and every thing with money including love while Pearl was from a normal background the were not rich but were okay and she was nice and polite people liked her bit leopard wondered what a nice and polite young lady would be doing with an arrogant and rude person like Sandra. Sandra's dad was the CEO of oil and gas company so Sandra was working at her dad company which she pleaded with her dad to employ Pearl which he did. Mr Donalds Sandra's dad company head office was located in Lagos and had branch across the world. So Derrick was posted from their branch at Sweden and to their head office in Lagos. He was introduced to every one at the office, he e was a cute young man and was liked by almost all the ladies at the office. Bit pearl on the other hand didn't even notice him which was part of the things that got him attracted to her apart from her beauty and of course her unique dress sense. Sandra being the only child was pampered and spoilt by her parents. Sandra saw Derrick one day on her way out for lunch break she approached him and offered the go get lunch together he rejected but she persisted which made him agree during lunch she professed her love to him, but he didn't like her she she was angry and she walked away because she was rich and believe nobody can say no to her. The day after that Pearl was coming down the stairs while Derrick was climbing the stairs with his face glued to his phone and he bumped into her and she almost fell but he caught her and the stirred at each other for few seconds then she pushed him away, warning him to watch where he was going next time, right there he apologized and he fell in Love with her it called "LOVE at FIRST SIGHT". he started asking her to have lunch with him , waiting after work to pick her up and take her home. Sandra was given a contract to handle but didn't deliver properly so it was taken from her and given to Pearl which she did very well it made Sandra dislike her because whosoever delivered and won the contract for the company the person will be promoted. The next day pearl came early to work Derrick worked into her office and asked her to check her email which after she did saw she had earned herself a promotion out of joy she she hugged Derrick and Sandra walked in and saw them which the left each other. This is his it begun. Sandra became jealous seeing Pearl and Derrick always together. It made Sandra angry that she distanced herself from Pearl. When pearl goes to her office she will discard her with an excuses that she has been busy Pearl knew it was a lie. So she confronted Sandra which Sandra told her there was nothing wrong but meanwhile seeing Pearl and Derrick together hurt her Pearl never knew Sandra liked Derrick because of the love she had for her friendship with Sandra she decided to distance herself from Derrick because she felt things changed the moment Derrick entered the picture it was difficult for her to do because she had started falling in love with Derrick but she had to cut all tiles because of Sandra. But the more pearl avoided Derrick the more she falls in love with him when Derrick noticed pearl was avoiding him he asked Sandra to help him talk to her it made Sandra hate Pearl the more. weeks passed and Pearl could no longer hide her feeling for him so she started talking to Derrick again. Derrick decided to stop being friends with pearl and asked her out which she agreed. She was so happy she told Sandra, Sandra pretended to be happy but she was boiling inside of her. Sandra decided to make Derrick fall in love with her but it wasn't walking so she decided to drug Derrick the day the went out for lunch and lie to pearl that the slept with each other Sandra took Derrick to a hotel removed his clothes took pictures so she could show pearl and she left the room before he gained consciousness. Next day at the office Derrick approached Sandra asking what she did to him Sandra told him the were intimate but he said it was a lie that nothing happened that he couldn't remember doing anything with her she quickly took her phone to show him the pictures and threatened to show them to pearl he knew he had to act fast, he after closure of work Derrick told pearl every thing and how Sandra was threatening him with it asking him to leave her Pearl was shocked because Sandra was her best friend he begged pearl to forgive him which she later did and was happy he didn't lie but told her the truth the day after Sandra walked I to pearl office saying I warned you about Derrick that Derrick took advantage of her, Pearl was quiet the whole time Sandra took her phone to show Pearl the pictures, Pearl told Sandra how betrayed she was and disappointed Sandra immediately walked out of the office and was angry on her way out she saw Derrick and told him that he played a really smart one on her he laughed trying to walk out Sandra told him if I can't have you nobody could then he worked out. That night pearl did not come back home because she was kidnapped the next day pearl parents decided to involve the police so Sandra heard of it and decided to come she cried and also consoled the parents as soon as Derrick heard of it he rushed to her house he was questioned by her parents who he was he introduced himself as pearl boyfriend the parents recalled pearl mentioning she had a boyfriend bit haven't met him so he stayed there all day he gave the police all the information the needed so when the were all together Derrick saw Sandra making a call saying is he there am coming he wondered he recalled seeing her making suspicious call and messages and he remembered what she said if I can't have you nobody will so he decided to trail Sandra he did that for days but he couldn't find anything so he decided after that day if there was nothing he would stop that was when he followed her into a bush to an uncompleted building there he saw pearl he immediately called the police when Pearl saw Sandra and asked her to save her that was when it dawned on her that Sandra was behind her kidnap pearl begged and asked Sandra why was she doing all of these, that was when Sandra opened up and told pearl that she had always like Derrick. pearl was shocked because she never told her. Sandra told pearl that she had always have what she wanted but she won't let Derrick slip off her hand so she raised a gun to shoot pearl that was when the police entered and stopped her she was sentenced to to years in prison meant pearl was taken home and was cleaned and taken care of one year later she was married to Derrick and the lived happily ever after.
