LILY
Lily toed off her shoes and stood barefoot on the plush cream carpet. It felt good to be back at Baran’s place after the day she’d had. She winced when she recalled that Yuri had snitched on her. He had done it while she sat right next to him in the car. Which meant that she would get an earful from Baran before she could draw a relaxing bath.
She dropped her bag onto the table in the entryway and made her way into the living room. The lights were dim and the dark furniture gave the room a cozy feeling.
Baran was already home, sitting at the wet bar. He didn't greet her, didn't even acknowledge her existence.
She gave him a look from under her lashes. Something was brewing and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to be around when he exploded.
