Chapter 20: THE DATE

Adam’s POV:
By the time I had reached the restaurant for the meeting, I had already made calls to arrange for a booking nearby where a fresh set of clothes would be waiting for me and I could quickly freshen up. I did not want to look run down and tired for the first date with Nuri.
I had considered an hour for the meeting and an additional hour before I could meet her at 6.
The meeting took around an hour, just as I had expected. But it felt like a long time and like it could not have gotten over sooner.
And though the meeting was a huge success and the final decisions concerning the company were made, my mind continuously drifted to the beautiful girl I would be spending the evening with.
I rushed to freshen up and change after the meeting, reached the spot where I would meet Nuri, nearly twenty minutes in advance.
I stood there, waiting patiently so I could see Nuri walk to me.
But I did not have to wait too long, because only in a few minutes from my arrival I saw her walking towards me in a beautiful red dress and flowing hair.
Oh, she is so beautiful, I thought to myself.
Our eyes met, and we moved towards each other.
As I reached her I gushed, "Hi! I am surprised that you came. I didn't expect you to come since I was blabbering like a blithering i***t when we met before... But I am really glad." She smiled surprised, "I am surprised to see you too! But I am glad as well..."
At that moment I realised that though I had asked her out, I had not planned what we would do, so I immediately improvised, "So, where do you want to go? We could go for an early dinner and then a movie. If you want to?"
She looked extremely thrilled with the idea, "I would love that... So how about we have a light dinner and then go to the movies and eat popcorn! And when we go out next time we could go to the...." She abruptly stopped and blushed. "I..."
"You are already thinking about a second date. So you did not think I was a blithering i***t before?" I could not help smiling. We had only clashed into each other for the first time two hours ago, and she was already thinking about us going out again, so it was not just me...
Her blush deepened, "I would never think that. I thought you would think that I was."
Hearing her say that I was stunned, why would I ever think she was a blithering i***t, "I assure you, you are anything but that."
I was glad to see her smile, "What type of food do you like? There are really good restaurants nearby. So you can take your pick."
"I like spicy food.." she said grinning. "Okay... I know a restaurant you will enjoy... Let's go."
We walked together for a few minutes before we came up to 'The Curry'.
"Have you ever tried Indian food? It can be pretty spicy... I am sure you will like it." "I have never tried it before. Let's..." We walked in and I requested a table for two. We were taken to our table and handed menus.
We quickly ordered the restaurant special 'Rice Curry'.
"Adam..." Hearing her say my name drew my complete attention to her, all while making my heart sing. I would like to hear her say my name more often. "Yes, Nuri."
"What food do you like?" "I have not decided yet... But I will surely tell you when I find out... But as of now, I do like desserts!"
We both shared a smile and continued to talk about our likes and dislikes, then the food was served but we continued talking while we ate. I even got to know that today was her 15th birthday.
Once we were done I reached for my wallet, but she reached out, "Is it okay if I pay?" I couldn't help but think that this girl was so young and yet so independent, "How about we share then?" "I would like that." She smiled.
Once we paid for the food, we headed to the movies... And she picked an action movie.
This girl is amazing! She is the woman of my dreams!
I was going to pay for the tickets but she was adamant to pay for it, "The movie is my choice, I pay for it." And she would not take no for an answer.
So I made her a deal, "If you are paying for the tickets, then I am going to pay for the popcorn and other refreshments. Also, we have to celebrate your birthday so, after the movies, I will take you to a beautiful place, and you cannot disagree."
She seemed a bit apprehensive at first but then agreed.
Though I had spent only a few hours with her and though she was so young, it was clear that she is a strong, independent, and amazing person! A person who is strong-headed and knows what she wants.
We picked our popcorn along with a few other snacks.
And now for movie time!
