Lyria has never been an ordinary girl, but no one suspects just how extraordinary she truly is. Raised in Ashwood by Elder Rowan, she has always felt a strange, unexplainable bond with the forest—not a weakness, but a quiet power that whispers to her in dreams. When the Blood Moon rises and the ancient Moon Stone shatters, Lyria’s life is torn open by a hidden truth: she is a bridge between worlds.

Everyone in Ashwood believes she's a wolfless werewolf because Rowan hides the truth. But in reality, she's the last Blood Moon Heir, a race that existed before werewolves and vampires. The Blood Moon Heirs were the guardians who maintained peace between the kingdoms.

On the night the Moon Stone shatters, Adrian Draven, the enigmatic Vampire Prince, arrives with a warning. Ancient beings known as the Shadowborn have awakened after centuries of silence. Older than both werewolves and vampires, the Shadowborn once sought to rule the three kingdoms before they were sealed away by the first Blood Moon Heir. Now the seal has weakened, and they have returned to claim the only person capable of breaking—or restoring it. Lyria.

As the shadowborns begin their march, Lyria and Adrian are forced into an uneasy alliance. They traverse forgotten forests, confront old betrayals, and question who they can trust—because the prophecy insists their love will either save three kingdoms or shatter them. As Lyria steps into her power, she must choose: surrender to the fate written in the stars or forge a new path—one where love and destiny intertwine, and a forgotten world rises again.

prologue
The war began beneath a crimson moon. Long before humans built kingdoms of stone... Long before wolves claimed the forests... Long before vampires ruled the shadows... The world belonged to peace. Werewolves and vampires had once walked the same lands, separated not by hatred, but by choice. Their borders remained untouched for centuries, protected by an ancient covenant blessed by the Moon Goddess herself. Until one night... Everything changed. The battlefield stretched farther than the eye could see. Broken swords disappeared beneath pools of blood. The scent of death poisoned the cold night air. The once-sacred Valley of Elaris had become a graveyard. Thousands of wolves lay motionless among the fallen trees. Thousands more vampires had turned to ash beneath the moonlight. Victory no longer mattered. Both races had already lost. Rain began to fall. Softly at first. Then harder. The crimson moon watched from above as blood mixed with rainwater, flowing through the valley like scarlet rivers. At the center of the battlefield stood two men. One wore silver armor stained with blood. His golden eyes glowed with the power of every Alpha who had come before him. King Alaric Frostfang. The first Werewolf King. Across from him stood a man dressed entirely in black. His crimson eyes burned brighter than the fires consuming the battlefield. His pale face revealed neither fear nor exhaustion. King Lucien Draven. The first Vampire King. Both men raised their weapons. Both knew only one of them would leave alive. "You murdered my son," Alaric growled. Lucien's expression remained unreadable. "And you slaughtered my queen." Silence answered them. Neither man remembered who had thrown the first blow. Neither remembered why the war had truly begun. Only hatred remained. They charged. Steel collided with supernatural strength. The ground split beneath their feet. Trees were ripped from the earth as shockwaves rolled across the valley. Neither king yielded. Neither could. Their people watched in silence, praying for a miracle that never came. The battle raged until dawn. Just as both kings prepared to strike the final blow... The heavens trembled. Every wolf suddenly dropped to one knee. Every vampire instinctively lowered their head. The moon itself began to shine brighter than the rising sun. A silver light descended from the sky. Gentle. Beautiful. Terrifying. Time froze. Rain stopped falling. The wind disappeared. Even the wounded ceased crying. From the heart of the light emerged a woman dressed in flowing white robes. Her silver hair floated around her like liquid moonlight. Her eyes held neither anger nor mercy. Only sorrow. The Moon Goddess had come. Every soul present bowed. Every soul except the two kings. "You have forgotten." Her voice was soft. Yet it echoed across the entire valley. "You were created to protect this world..." Her gaze moved between them. "...not destroy it." Neither king spoke. Shame settled heavily upon them. "The hatred you have nurtured will not end here." The Moon Goddess slowly raised one graceful hand. Above her, the crimson moon began turning silver once more. "I have seen what lies ahead." Her voice grew quieter. "But destiny cannot be escaped." The air around her shimmered. Ancient symbols appeared across the sky, glowing brighter with every passing heartbeat. Then... She spoke the prophecy. "When the moon rejects its own child..." Lightning split the heavens. "When the wolf walks without a soul..." The earth trembled. "When the blood of night chooses the daughter of dawn..." The kings exchanged confused glances. Neither understood. The Moon Goddess closed her eyes. A single silver tear rolled down her cheek. "She alone shall stand between ruin and salvation." "She shall unite what hatred divided..." "Or watch both races drown beneath an endless crimson moon." Silence. The prophecy faded into the wind. No one dared breathe. King Alaric's face darkened. "A wolf without a soul..." King Lucien finished the thought. "A child rejected by the moon." Both men reached the same conclusion. "If she is never born..." "There will be no prophecy." The Moon Goddess slowly looked at them. "You believe destiny can be murdered." Neither king answered. Because both had already decided. If the child ever appeared... She would die. The Goddess sighed. "You mistake prophecy for a curse." Her silver eyes seemed to look far beyond the battlefield... Beyond time itself... Toward a future only she could see. "The girl you fear..." "...will not destroy your world." A faint smile touched her lips. "She will reveal the monster hiding within it." Before either king could question her... The light surrounding her began to fade. One final whisper drifted through the valley. "So long as love survives..." "...hope shall never perish." Then she was gone. The battlefield fell silent once more. King Alaric slowly lowered his sword. "We speak of this to no one." Lucien nodded. "The prophecy dies today." Every surviving elder was sworn to secrecy. Ancient scrolls were burned. Sacred records were erased. Those who refused to remain silent disappeared before the next full moon. Within a single generation... The prophecy became nothing more than a forgotten legend. Or so they believed. Hidden deep within a cave untouched by time... An old seer carefully wrapped a weathered scroll in silver cloth. His hands trembled as he whispered, "They can bury the truth..." He sealed the scroll inside a stone chamber. "...but destiny has never feared darkness." *** The forest had forgotten what peace felt like. Towering pines that had stood for centuries burned beneath crimson flames, their branches collapsing one after another. The air was thick with smoke and the metallic scent of blood. Every gust of wind carried distant screams—warriors crying out, wolves howling in agony, children calling for parents who would never answer. A lone woman stumbled through the darkness. Her breathing came in ragged gasps as she clutched a newborn baby tightly against her chest. The infant was wrapped in a faded white cloak, carefully shielding her from the cold rain that poured through the broken canopy above. The woman glanced over her shoulder. Nothing. Only shadows. Yet she knew they were there. Watching. Hunting. She pushed herself forward despite the pain burning through her body. Blood seeped from a deep wound across her side, leaving a crimson trail among the fallen leaves. Every step felt heavier than the last, but she refused to stop. Not while her daughter still breathed. The baby stirred softly in her arms, letting out a tiny cry. The woman's trembling lips curved into the faintest smile. "I'm sorry, my little moon," she whispered, brushing a kiss against the baby's forehead. "You were born into a world that fears you before it even knows your name." A tear escaped her eye. "I wanted to show you spring... the rivers... the stars above Ashwood." Her voice cracked. "Instead, all you've seen is blood." A thunderous howl echoed through the forest. Close. Too close. The woman froze. Branches snapped somewhere behind her. More than one hunter. She tightened her hold on the child and broke into another desperate run. Her legs screamed in protest. The wound at her side tore open further. She nearly fell, catching herself against the trunk of an ancient oak. "Please..." she whispered to no one. "Just a little farther." The baby began to cry. "No, no..." the woman soothed gently. "You must be quiet. They'll hear you." As if answering her fear, voices drifted through the trees. "She came this way!" "Spread out!" "Do not let the child escape!" The woman's heart lurched. They weren't just chasing her anymore. They were hunting the baby. She looked down at the tiny face resting against her chest. The infant's eyes slowly opened, revealing irises unlike any she had ever seen—one glimmered like molten silver beneath the moonlight, the other carried the faintest trace of crimson. The woman stared, tears filling her eyes. "So... the prophecy is true." A fresh wave of fear swept over her. If anyone else saw those eyes... They would kill her daughter without hesitation. "No," she whispered fiercely. "I won't let them." She forced herself onward until the forest suddenly opened into a small clearing. An old stone shrine stood at its center, half-consumed by vines and forgotten by time. Waiting there was an elderly man wrapped in a weathered gray cloak. He had been waiting. When he saw the blood covering the young mother's clothes, grief filled his tired eyes. "You came," he said quietly. "I almost didn't." She collapsed to her knees before him, carefully shielding the baby from the fall. The old man rushed forward. "My Lady—" "There isn't much time." Her voice was growing weaker. "They're close." He helped her lean against the ancient shrine. "They'll find us." "They mustn't." With trembling hands, she placed the baby into his arms. The old man's breath caught. He had served the royal family his entire life. He had witnessed kings crowned. He had buried queens. Yet never had he held a burden as heavy as the child before him. The baby looked up at him... Then smiled. His eyes filled with tears. "What is her name?" he whispered. The young mother smiled through her pain. "Lyria." The old man repeated it softly. "Lyria..." "Promise me..." She reached for his hand with what little strength she had left. "Raise her far away from this war." "I will." "Never tell her who she truly is." "I swear it." "If she learns the truth too soon..." Her voice broke. "...they'll never stop hunting her." The old man lowered his head. "I swear upon my life... I will protect her until my final breath." The woman smiled. For the first time since the war began... She looked at peace. Then... The sound of footsteps echoed through the trees. Dozens of them. The hunters had found the clearing. The old man looked up in alarm. "They're here." She gently pushed him away. "Go." "My Lady—" "GO!" Her cry echoed through the forest. "Take my daughter... and don't look back." The old man hesitated only a heartbeat before wrapping Lyria securely in his cloak. "I'm sorry." With tears streaming down his face, he disappeared into the darkness. The young mother watched until they were gone. Only then did she slowly rise to her feet exhausted and wounded. Drawing the silver dagger from her belt, she turned toward the approaching shadows. If this was where her journey ended... Then she would make sure it bought her daughter one more chance to live. The first hunter stepped into the clearing. Then another. And another. Then the leader of the hunters steps forward and asks: "Where is the child?" She smiles despite the blood on her lips. "Some destinies cannot be hunted." She raises her weapon. The guardian hears the clash of steel echo through the forest... ...but never looks back.
