Michael stormed inside one of the hotel rooms after knocking. The frown on his face was so obvious that the moment he got in, the person occupying the room knew something was wrong.
“What’s wrong Michael? Why are you looking so furious?” The aged looking man asked.
“Dad, do you realize one of those ladies from last night was a thief?” Micheal asked, staring intently at his dad.
“What do you mean, Michael? Is any of your stuff’s missing?” The aged chief asked and sat up properly on the bed.
“Yes dad! The lady I spent the night with, stole all of my jewelries and money! She even had the mind to drop me a note!” Michael yelled and flung the pierce of paper on his dad’s bed.
The chief frown before picking up the piece of paper and read through it. As he read on, his brows knitted together in anger.
“How dare that bi*ch! What did she take you for? A pauper that she could Robb off his money and go Scout free? We are getting her and she’s going to pay for all the properties she had stolen!” The chief said through gritted teeth. His eyes looking so red and his fist clenched against the bed sheets.
“How are we going to get her, dad? I need to get to that criminal today!” Michael snapped.
“Don’t worry, I saw her name was written in this piece of paper as Lucy. I’m going to call the girl who had brought them over . I’m sure she’s going to help us in getting the criminal.” The chief assured his son.
“Alright, Dad. Get on it.” Michael uttered impatiently as he paced back and forth in the room.
The chief picked up his phone, scroll through it for a while before placing it on his left ear. The call ranged for a while before the person on the other end picked up.
“Chief… My baby. Are you missing me already and you decided to call?” The voice on the other end rang out first.
“Stop it Sofia! I’m so annoyed right now! Why would you bring a thief over to my son’s party? Do you realize one of your girls stole my son’s money and jewelries!” The chief snapped at her.
“Oh my God! Chief, I didn’t know about such a thing. I wouldn’t want to anger you, chief. What can I do for you to forgive me? I’m ready to do anything to make sure you forgive me chief.” Sofia uttered in a teary voice.
“I can only forgive you if you would help me get the girl. I need that criminal locked up behind bars!” The chief sneered.
“That’s not a problem chief. I would help you get her. Just tell me her name and I’d forward her home address to you immediately.” Sofia uttered.
“Her name is Lucy. You do know her right?” The chief asked.
“Lucy? Oh my God! She’s my roommate, chief. I never knew Lucy was a criminal! I never knew! I’m going to forward our home address to you immediately. You can come over and get her. I won’t cover up for a criminal!” Sofia spat out in disgust.
“You made the right decision, Sofia. would be waiting for the address.” The chief said before hanging up the call.
“We got her?” Michael asked, looking so anxious.
“Sure, son. Her roommate is going to send the address right now. Let me get dressed so, we can go get her.” The chief said already up on his feet.
As he got dressed, he heard the notification sound from his phone and knew that must be the address.
Once he was done, he made a call across to the police and sent the address to them. They are all going to meet at Lucy’s home address.
Three black jeep and a police van pulled over at Lucy’s house. Michael got down from one of the Jeep, his father got down from another and the last one was occupied by their bodyguards.
Since Sofia already told them their flat was the last one in the compound, they all made their way straight down to the last flat.
Once they knocked at the gate, Sofia was the one who came out to get it.
“What’s going on here?” She asked, feigning surprise at the police officers, bodyguards, chief and Michael.
“Madam, open this door right now. Are you Lucy?” The detective spoke up first.
“No, I’m not Lucy. Lucy is inside.” Sofia answered immediately.
“Good! Now, open the door.” The detective ordered.
Sofia immediately unlocked the gate and allowed them inside.
Lucy who was hearing different sounds, wondered who was those at the door. She stood up and made her way to the living room.
The moment she arrived at the living room, she halted abruptly on her movements when she saw the guy from last night. She couldn’t forget his face no matter what.
“You? What are you doing at my house? How do you even know where I live?” Lucy asked, staring intently into his face. She was feeling so happy that she didn’t notice the look on his face and also the people surrounding him. It felt like, they were both alone in the room and butterflies were dancing around her stomach.
Michael chuckled “Oh really? You thought I wouldn’t find you right? Do you really think you could run away with my properties, huh?”
The smile on Lucy’s face wiped off almost immediately. “W..What do you mean by running away with your properties? I didn’t touch any of your stuffs.”
“My God! You lie so perfectly well. With how innocent you look, no one would believe you’re a chronic liar and a criminal!” Michael spat out in anger.
Lucy’s eyes watered immediately at the names he had just called her.
“I didn’t do anything” the moment she said this, a tear slip down her cheeks.
“Check her wardrobe! Bring whatever you see in there, out!” The chief ordered his bodyguards who flunged into action almost immediately.
To be continued.
