Chapter 2

I settled comfortably at my seat beside my friend. I got the chips from his hand and started eating. "How's school?" him opening a topic. "I don't know. Ask the keeper." I answered, didn't even bother to look at him. He slapped my arm. "Silly." I am currently at their house. We are having a netflix and chill session this weekend. Our type of catching up after weeks of not seeing each other since he goes to a different school. "Have you heard abt Maggy's death?" he suddenly asked. I just nodded my head. Maggy's death had been the talk of the town for the past week. I heard further investigations were made as demanded by her family, particularly her father. "That was too sudden. But I hope they'll find out the truth. I heard the investigation's coming to an end." I stared at his side profile while munching the food in my mouth. "Where?" I asked. He also looked at me. "Hmm?" he asked back. "Where did you hear it?" I asked as I looked at him intently. "Sean." he answered. Sean is Maggy's older brother. "I thought you two fought?" I asked. He looked away before answering. "That was before. We're okay now." I nodded as a response. He never looked at me again after that until I decided to go home. I bid him my goodbye and left. I decided to just walk. My house is a bit far from Kiyo's house but I'm certain I can arrive there before darkness comes. I turned to a corner but came to a halt when I saw a familiar figure. It was the nerd girl. She's with a guy. I decided to hide myself behind a tree and wait for them to finish before I continued my walk. "What is this?" I heard the girl ask. "Another one." answered by a familiar voice of a guy. "What?! Why??" "You know our terms, Aly." I took a peek to see them. I could see their side profiles from where I am standing. The guy's arm was extended. He was holding a tiny thing, giving it to the nerd girl named Aly. I squinted my eyes to see the thing better. It was a small glass bottle containing a liquid substance inside. The guy suddenly looked in my direction. Our eyes met but I stood still. He averted his gaze, looking a bit nervous. He immediately handed the thing to Aly and they left after that taking different directions.
