IV 🌠 Gin

I rubbed my palms as I felt the uneasiness again in me when I saw his friends. He invited me to the resto-bar next to the seaside hotel. I hesitantly agreed, knowing that he was flirting with me and trying to hit me up. I already mentioned that I have a girlfriend. Even though our relationship is toxic, I’m still not hitting other people. I caught them laughing loudly. They seem to have a good friendship together. “It’s Crystal!” Julienne waved her whole arm while holding a beer. She’s drunk. “Hi!” I smiled and waved. Mikelle and I sat next to each other while Rosa continued her story. I felt more disturbed for some reason. “His dead skin is so visible!” Rosa exclaimed and the group collectively groaned in disgust. “That’s why I am not going for unhygienic men ever again!” I can’t relate to what they’re talking about, but I agree with Rosa. I leaned back in the chair and smiled. I paused and froze when my eyes landed on him. I felt terrified even more than before. I felt my whole body freezing, feeling the cold, and it felt that my nerves were frozen. It’s the Varden guy. I’m pretty sure it’s Varden. He makes me feel disturbed. My body jolted from Rosa's loud laugh. “Here,’ Mikelle offered me a shot. I drank it expecting alcohol, but it tasted like mango juice. “What is this?” “Gin with mango juice,” Mikelle replied. ‘You don’t like it?” “Oh-no, I like it,” I said. “I thought it was just juice,” I got embarrassed. “You’ll see the effects later.” I glance at Rosa,Julienne,Brade,Rochelle, and June. They’re all drunk except me, Mikelle, and Varden, who’s scrolling through his phone, his glass of beer untouched. It’s so fast that they get drunk easily. “What’s the alcohol content?” I grabbed the glass pitcher full of mango juice with gin, “Something like…” he paused and thought about it. “40?” “40?!” I exclaimed. “You never drank gin before?” he curiously asked. “Yeah, I drink, but not that much,” I explained. “Then,” he grabbed an empty glass. “You’re gonna drink as much as I am,” he joked. I poured the drink into his glass. We had a fun time talking to each other. Even though the rest are drunk as hell, they can still manage to joke and talk properly. Rosa mostly talked about her experiences with her past one-night stands. Some are disgusting, some are fine, and some are very good. Rosa has a very active s*x life. She said that she doesn’t want to get married because she doesn’t want her future kid to get bullied because of her job. After some words about her not wanting to get married, Rosa shifted the topic onto me. “How about you, Crystal? How’s your relationship?” she asked while her eyes were droopy. “My relationship? Um…” I thought about one word to describe it. “Sh**ty,” “Woah,” she said, eyes wide open. “Why?” “It’s toxic, she’s the reason why she left me out of nowhere in the first place,” The group gasped. “She did that?!” Rochelle said. “Godd*mn…” June sips his drink. “I don’t know if we’re still together, she just left me there,” I added. “You guys are definitely over,” Julienne replied. “Her doing that to you means it’s done.” “Yeah,” Rosa agreed. ‘I don’t even wanna know what is between you and your girlfriend. You should enjoy being single if your life is just full of relationships.” Rosa is right, I need to enjoy myself. I’m starting to think that relationships are hard to manage when I don’t prioritize myself. “You’re still young, right?” Mikelle asks. “You can go back to school and get a degree or do something that you like,” “Quitting college was the best choice I ever made but it made me miss studying,” Rosa said. Her eyes shifted to the others who were sleeping. Brade is knocked out, June too, and Rochelle has just slept and is leaning on the chair. “I’m out.” Julienne got up and walked out. “Me too,” Mikelle said, and went with her. “They’re gonna do something,” she drank her gin as we both watched them walk away. “F*ck it, let’s talk about our lives Crystal,” “How about you, Rosa? Were you married once before?” I asked. “Yes, but it didn’t go well with my career,” she said.”After I got married I quit being an adult actor just for him. And then the motherf*cker cheated on me because he said that it’s just the same with my career,” “What did you do?” “I immediately divorced him. I can’t spend my whole life with a close-minded toxic person,” she leaned on the table and buried her face in her arms. I thought about how I badly treated Aurora in our relationship. Being with me is tiring. I should leave her alone. “Rosa, I think I need closure with her-” I stopped speaking when I noticed that everyone was sleeping… And Varden isn’t there in his seat. I felt more comfortable talking with Rosa, no wonder why. Then, where is he? He’s probably with Julienne and Mikelle, doing stuff. I sighed and poured gin into a glass. I was about to drink when I noticed their wallets on the table open. I looked up at the sky and ignored the urge to steal from them and run away. No. But I’ll get money and spend it. It’s their money. I won’t see them again- F*CK! I quickly and quietly stood up and slowly grabbed the long pink wallet, when I opened it I saw a black card and tons of cash. I smiled at the amount of money I could get. I swiftly put them in my bra and went to the next wallet. I observed the place to see if anyone was looking at me. SH*T! A tall guy was glaring at me, wiping his hands using his jeans. “What do you think you’re doing?”
