The Prophecy of the Moon Goddess
The Moon Crystal has awakened..."
The whisper spread through Moon Mountain like the wind before a storm.
One by one, thousands of wolves lifted their heads toward the sacred peak where silver moonlight bathed the ancient Moon Park in an ethereal glow. Towering silver trees swayed gently, their luminous leaves shimmering like countless stars. Blossoms that bloomed only once each year covered the sacred ground, filling the air with a fragrance so pure that even the fiercest warriors found themselves breathing more softly.
Tonight was unlike any other.
It was the Night of the Bright Moon.
The only night when every wolf pack crossed their territorial borders and gathered beneath the blessing of the Moon Goddess herself.
For thousands of years, no wolf had dared to miss this sacred gathering.
The four great packs arrived one after another.
The Inferno Pack emerged first, their crimson cloaks fluttering like flames. Warriors with fiery eyes walked proudly behind their Alpha King. They were born of volcanoes and blazing forests, blessed with dominion over fire itself. Flames danced harmlessly around their feet as they advanced toward the sacred altar.
Next came the Ocean Tide Pack.
Their robes shimmered like flowing water beneath the moonlight. Every step they took carried an air of serenity. Their healers walked among them carrying crystal bowls filled with glowing spring water, while warriors wore armor crafted from shimmering blue scales gathered from the deepest lakes.
From the towering cliffs descended the Stormfang Pack.
Powerful winds circled around them as if greeting old friends. Their silver-blue cloaks billowed without end, and flashes of lightning flickered silently behind distant clouds. Every wolf possessed sharp, observant eyes capable of seeing danger long before it arrived.
Finally, the Earthclaw Pack emerged from the ancient forest.
The very ground seemed to welcome their arrival. Massive wolves with broad shoulders marched beside towering trees that bent respectfully in their presence. Vines curled around ancient stones, and wild animals silently watched as nature's guardians reached the sacred mountain.
Although each pack possessed incredible elemental gifts...
None considered themselves rulers.
That had always been the Moon Goddess's law.
No Alpha would ever dominate another.
Only the Moon Crystal could choose the one worthy of protecting them all.
At the center of Moon Park stood the sacred altar.
Floating above it rested the Moon Crystal.
It was unlike anything nature could create.
The crystal radiated soft silver light that illuminated the entire mountain. Tiny streams of moonlight circled around it like living spirits before disappearing into the night sky. Every full moon, it blessed every wolf with divine energy gifted by the Moon Goddess.
Generations had lived and died beneath its light.
Generations had trusted its judgment without question.
Tonight...
It would choose another Supreme Guardian.
The festival slowly came to an end as music faded into silence.
Children stopped laughing.
Warriors sheathed their weapons.
Even restless pups instinctively sat beside their mothers.
The entire mountain became still.
Four Alpha Kings stepped toward the altar together.
Alpha Kael of the Inferno Pack.
Tall and broad-shouldered, his amber eyes burned with the confidence of an undefeated warrior. A crimson cloak rested upon his back, and faint flames danced across his fingertips without burning him.
Beside him stood Alpha Orion of the Ocean Tide Pack.
His calm blue eyes reflected wisdom earned through countless years of protecting his people. Water drifted around his hands like gentle ribbons before disappearing into the cool night air.
Alpha Zephyr of the Stormfang Pack stood with quiet elegance.
His silver hair moved although there was no breeze. Every movement carried impossible speed and precision. Tiny sparks flickered across the sky above him before vanishing into the clouds.
The last to arrive was Alpha Rowan of the Earthclaw Pack.
His presence alone made the earth feel steady. Thick vines curled gently around the ancient stones near the altar as though greeting an old companion. Birds rested fearlessly upon nearby branches despite the gathering of thousands.
The four Alpha Kings exchanged respectful nods.
They were rivals.
But tonight...
They stood as equals.
An elderly priestess slowly approached the altar.
Her silver robes shimmered beneath the moonlight, and her long white hair reached almost to the ground. Though age had weakened her body, every wolf lowered their head the moment she appeared.
She alone served as the voice of the Moon Goddess.
Raising her wooden staff toward the heavens, she spoke in a calm yet powerful voice.
"Daughters and sons of the Moon..."
"For thousands of years, our Mother has watched over us."
"She blessed us with the four sacred elements."
"She gave us strength enough to defend our lands..."
"And wisdom enough not to destroy one another."
The wolves listened in complete silence.
"Tonight," the priestess continued, "the Moon Crystal shall once again choose the Supreme Guardian—the one whose heart values peace above power, unity above pride, and sacrifice above glory."
No wolf dared breathe.
Every Alpha placed one hand upon the ancient altar.
The Moon Crystal began to glow brighter.
Silver light spread across the mountain like waves upon an endless ocean.
The wind stopped.
The waterfalls surrounding Moon Mountain became eerily still.
Even the flames carried by the Inferno warriors froze in place.
The entire world seemed to hold its breath.
The priestess closed her eyes.
"Moon Goddess..."
"Reveal your chosen guardian."
For several long seconds...
Nothing happened.
Then...
A deep crack echoed across the mountain.
CRACK!
Every wolf looked up in horror.
A thin line appeared across the flawless surface of the Moon Crystal.
The impossible...
Had happened.
The crack spread across the Moon Crystal with terrifying speed.
Another followed.
Then another.
The flawless crystal that had stood untouched for thousands of years was now covered in glowing silver fractures.
Gasps rippled through the gathering.
"No..." an Elder whispered. "This cannot be happening."
The four Alpha Kings instinctively stepped forward, their elemental auras flaring.
Fire swirled around Alpha Kael.
Water coiled protectively around Alpha Orion.
Violent winds gathered at Alpha Zephyr's feet.
The earth beneath Alpha Rowan trembled.
Yet none of their powers could calm the Crystal.
Instead, the sacred relic pulsed faster.
Brighter.
Stronger.
Until...
A single silver droplet slipped from its surface.
It landed upon the ancient altar.
Silence.
The oldest Elder slowly fell to his knees.
"The Moon Crystal..."
His voice trembled.
"...has wept."
Fear swept across Moon Mountain.
No living wolf had ever witnessed such a miracle.
No ancient record spoke of it.
The Crystal had guided generations.
It had judged every Supreme Guardian with perfect wisdom.
But it had never cried.
Never.
Without warning, the sky darkened.
The full moon vanished behind swirling clouds.
Lightning flashed across the heavens, yet no thunder followed.
The mountain shook violently.
Far below, volcanoes roared.
Rivers overflowed.
Ancient forests bent as though bowing before an invisible force.
The four elements were no longer in harmony.
They were... responding.
The High Priestess gripped her staff to steady herself.
Her face had turned pale.
"It has begun."
The Alpha Kings looked at one another.
Alpha Kael frowned.
"What has begun?"
The priestess slowly walked toward the ancient altar.
Hidden beneath its stone base rested a small silver chest sealed with the emblem of the Moon Goddess.
For centuries...
No one had dared open it.
Not even the Supreme Guardians.
With trembling hands, she broke the ancient seal.
A scroll, worn by time yet untouched by decay, rested inside.
The moment she unrolled it, moonlight poured from its surface.
Every wolf lowered their head.
The priestess began to read.
"When darkness rises...
When greed replaces honor...
When hatred divides the Four Great Packs...
When the balance of the sacred elements begins to shatter...
When the Moon Crystal loses its light...
The Moon Goddess shall bless one child."
A cold breeze swept through the gathering.
No wolf moved.
"She shall not command one element."
"She shall command the Moon itself."
A murmur spread through the crowd.
"The four sacred elements shall answer her call."
"The Moon Crystal shall awaken only for her."
"She alone shall unite the divided packs."
"She alone shall stand between wolfkind and extinction."
The priestess stopped.
Her hands trembled so violently that the scroll nearly slipped from her grasp.
"There is... one final passage."
The mountain became deathly silent.
Even the wind refused to breathe.
She closed her eyes before speaking.
"The fate of every wolf shall rest..."
"...in the paws of a single Daughter of the Moon."
No one spoke.
Every Alpha had heard legends about the prophecy.
None had believed they would live long enough to witness it.
Alpha Rowan finally broke the silence.
"If such a child exists..."
"Which pack does she belong to?"
No answer came.
Alpha Orion stepped closer.
"Has she already been born?"
Again...
Silence.
The priestess stared into the glowing Crystal.
Usually, it revealed visions.
Tonight...
She saw only endless silver light.
"I cannot see."
Confusion spread among the Elders.
"What do you mean you cannot see?"
The priestess slowly shook her head.
"The Moon Goddess has hidden her."
At that exact moment—
The Moon Crystal erupted with blinding brilliance.
A pillar of silver light shot into the heavens.
It pierced the clouds.
Crossed mountains.
Passed forests.
Traveled farther than any wolf could imagine.
Then...
It disappeared.
No direction.
No destination.
Only silence remained.
Far away...
In a place unknown...
Beneath the very same moon...
A newborn's cry echoed through the night.
The sound was soft.
Gentle.
Yet the instant it was heard...
Every wolf across the world froze.
Some instinct beyond reason forced them to lift their eyes toward the moon.
The forests fell silent.
The rivers became still.
Even the fiercest storms paused for a single heartbeat.
No one knew why.
No one knew where.
No one knew whose child had entered the world.
Back on Moon Mountain, the Moon Crystal slowly returned to its calm silver glow.
The High Priestess collapsed onto her knees.
Tears streamed down her weathered face.
With a voice barely louder than a whisper, she said,
"She is here..."
One of the Elders stepped forward.
"Where?"
"I do not know."
"Which Alpha's bloodline?"
"I do not know."
"Can the Moon Goddess show us?"
The priestess looked toward the radiant moon.
For the first time in her long life...
She smiled.
"The Goddess has chosen secrecy."
"When the time is right..."
"The Daughter of the Moon will reveal herself."
High above the sacred mountain...
Hidden beyond the silver clouds...
Two ancient golden eyes slowly opened.
Watching.
Waiting.
Smiling.
As destiny quietly took its first breath.
