Chapter 16

Hazel POV    I tired to shift but something strong was preventing my actions. Did someone kidnap me? You will only get to know that if you open your eyes, I thought. I opened my eyes and took in the familiar interior of Xavier's room. His arm was wrapped around my waist which is why I couldn't get up. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and tried to move his arm but it only made him tighten his hold on me. I so badly had to go the bathroom. I couldn't hold it any longer and started waking him up.       “Xavier, get up.” He groaned and his eyebrows furrowed.        “Let me go.” He grumbled something in his sleep.      “No sleep.” I rolled my eyes at his childish behaviour.   “I have to pee.” He cursed under his breath but let me go. I went to the bathroom and did my business. Pulling my hair in a high ponytail, I exited the bathroom to see Xavier rubbing his eyes.     “Good morning.” I chirped walking up to him.     “Morning.” He shot a lazy grin. I was about to sit beside him but he pulled me on his lap. I squeaked as he rained kisses on my shoulder. I squirmed and he groaned.      “Stop squirming you are making it worse.” I blushed hard realising what he meant.      “Go and freshen up. I am gonna go and make some breakfast.” I got off his lap and he reached for my arm but I dodged it. I laughed at his annoyed expression.    “I want you not breakfast.” He whined  and a thought came to me.     “You will have to catch me for that.” I slammed door shut and ran like Usian Bolt. I heard the sound of the door opening followed by heavy footsteps.     “Hazel! Get back here.” I chuckled and ran towards the hall.     Suddenly, two arms wrapped around my waist. I squealed as I felt myself being lifted up.       “Got you.” He whispered in my ear and put me down.        “So, what do I get as a reward?”  He asked playfully. His eyes full of mischief. I put my finger on my chin pretending to think.       “You get..” I kept getting closer to him and leaned in. Our faces were just inches away. He watched me with hooded eyes.     “Nothing.” I pushed him aside and ran to the kitchen. He glared and mumbled something incoherent under his breath.     I was making scrambled eggs when Skylar entered the kitchen. She sat on the stool and kept staring at me. I narrowed my eyes at her and she grinned like a Cheshire Cat.     “So, how did your date go? Did you guys kiss? Did you have s*x? Did you use protection if not then take the morning after pills. I don't want to become an aunt at such a young age!' She bombarded me with questions. I burst out laughing.     “Don't worry you won't become an aunt so soon.” I assured her and the sound of laughter filled the kitchen. I  placed two plates for me and Skylar.     “You know we should go for shopping today. I am so bored over here.”  She suggested with her mouth full of food.     “How about we go in an hour?” I asked glancing at the clock. It  was already 11:30 so we could leave  in an hour.      “Sounds good.” I finished my plate and placed it in the sink.     I heard shouts coming  from the hall.     BANG! A gunshot rang.     I turned to Skylar and saw her frowning  at me. We rushed  to the hall where the sound came from to see a man covered in blood.
