Chapter 8:The Injured Man (2)

Avila arched a brow then bluntly asked. "Oh?You are awake?"
The man."..."
He coldly gave a glare at Avila.His gray-silvered crimson eyes pierced through Avila's purple eyes.Avila did not dare to step any closer but just bend down her knees while slowly putting down the medicine kit that was made of wood and a lamp lit up that she had brought and done this with a distance away from the man.
Just being cautious to her surroundings she brought a small knife that was tied up in her left leg while her skirt was hiding them.
She carefully sat on the ground with her legs crossed and mostly covering her thighs and legs with her long skirt as her gaze met at the man's injury.
If he wasn't awake she could have treated his wounds without delay,but this situation,what could she do?
Especially now,that the man was stern.He was still coldly looking at Avila with eyes full of caution.
But in the eyes of Avila,she clearly misunderstood everything.She thought that the man was disgusted by her.
Ah!Just looking at those eyes makes Avila's blood boil wildly.
How dare this man look at her with those eyes?!
She even treated him properly despite almost being killed by him earlier!
Agh!How unforgivable!He should be thankful!
They sat together,face to face,not far apart but just a distance.The air became ice-cold.
They stared at each other unblinkingly.Like they were in a staring contest and the two of them were the competitors.
Then after for a few minutes in silence in their staring competition, Avila who was unable to not blink any longer,admits defeat.She close her eyes and hesitantly asked if she would allow him to treat his wounds but silence was she received.
Avila."..."
The man."..."
Avila was still waiting for his response yet the man still looked at her unblinkingly.
Is he deaf or not?How could he just stare at her like this?
Avila was running out of patience.Her pouty face has formed.Ignite flames came out from Avila's eyes and a vein suddenly popped out from her forehead.She was totally angry at this man!and her ugly ogre face was visible from the man's eyes.
For the last time,Avila spoke coldly,repeating her question once more with a tone of anger and hostility while still holding a creepy smile in her face."Sir?Do you want me to treat your wounds or face your fate and die?"
The man who was still looking at her,froze.He was shocked by the girl's response of him ignoring her.
Such boldness!How could this girl act like earlier was nothing!
He thought that the girl will leave her and worse,inform everybody that he was here but no.It was unexpected that the girl suddenly came back at his aroused and even brought things that can help treat his wounds.
What is this girl,seriously?
[Avila be like:A human!]
"..."The man blinked his eyes intending to signal the girl to his response and the girl's eyes suddenly lit up.She took the man's response as a 'yes' to her question as she picked up the medicine kit and carefully walked near where the man was lying now.
Slowly and swiftly,she put the medicine kit beside her and approach the man with eagerness to treat his wounds.
She unwrapped the bandage of the man's wound and slowly observed it while the man just looked away.
The cut of the abdominal part was too deep and the skin was black.There was no doubt that his wound was damaged by a poisoned weapon.
Rue thought of this,and she didn't even give a second thought.She had brought a few petals of the snow lotuses she picked earlier because there was no denying that it was partially needed.She picked up a petal of snow lotus from her pocket and gave it to the man.
The man looked at her confused,then turn to look at what she was trying to give him.He was surprised to see that what the girl was holding now,is non other than a petal of a snow lotus!
What is this girl seriously!
But with highly doubts in his mind,he did not falter to decide but coldly rejected her.He doubt that maybe this girl is trying to feed him poison while tricking him that it was a snow lotus as a revenge to what he has done earlier.
He will never fall for her trick!Nobody can be trusted in this world.
He could've killed her earlier if it wasn't for his strength being weak!
As Avila looked at the man's reaction she restlessly sighed.
Without a thought,Avila suddenly shoved the petal in her mouth as the man looked at her shocked.
Avila munched the petal until she swallowed it.
She bluntly spoke with a straightforward pace."Now,what I ate is poison.Did I die?...No of course not! Because medicine won't kill me."She said that like she hinted the man to believe her as the man was utterly dumbfounded and speechless at her straightforward behavior.
He never has met a girl this bold before!
The man."..."
Avila who stared at him blankly,picked up another petal from her pocket and gave it to the man for one last time.
The man was hesitant at first but gladly took her offer as he gradually ate the petal on his mouth.
And for a few seconds,the snow lotus took an effect in his body so quickly that the man's complexion was getting better as his wound in the abdominal part slowly stopped bleeding.
So it is a magic medicine!Awwie!MAH~ MAWNEEY~(My money).She internally cried out.
The man."..."
"Now that you have ate the medicine allow me to treat your wound."As Rue said that,she quickly treat his wound but was stopped when the man suddenly coughed up blood and even worse in right in front her face!
She embarrassingly wiped his blood away with her right arm while her eyes was inflamed with fire and once more she was angry.
How could this man coughed up blood in front of her face!How ungrateful!
"Hey!Why did you-"Rue only said half way through,and was interrupted by him who was instantly and rapidly coughing up blood.
She was worried because his complexion got worse!
Why-
Avila."!!!"
The wound!
The skin color in his wound in the abdominal part was getting darker and darker and slowly the black color in the skin was spreading the whole area of his abdomen.
She should have treated the wound first before she fed him the magic medicine because even if the snow lotus can help detoxify any poison it was still not good to just leave the wound open like that!
She blamed herself and without hesitation she pulled the small knife from her left leg that was tied up and carefully hold it up.
She was about to cut the dark skin but was interrupted by the man again as he hold her hand tightly while struggling to speak up.
Why is this man always interrupting her for everything she does!
"W-what...what are you doing..."The man spoke with a low voice.There was no denying that the man was in pain because of his hoarse voice yet still struggled to fight back.
"Don't worry,I won't kill you.I am just trying to treat your wound.I need a knife to cut the black color and the part of your skin that was poisoned before it spreads to your whole body."She explained and reassured him.
But still the man was hesitant.Rue spoke again trying to convince him before it is too late.
"If I really do kill you then God will punish me."
"..."The man who was still grasping Avila's hand suddenly let go and turned his head to look away to the side.
Avila took his action as a 'yes' and without delay she carefully pushed the knife onto his skin.Warily,she cut the weird black color layer of skin first in the sides,as she slowly went in the middle.
The man who was trying to bear the pain,groaned with his eyes twitched and his right palm clenched tightly.
He was trembling and truth to be told,Avila was also trembling.She was scared that what if this man dies in the hands of her treatment.
Oh God!How she hate this kind of herself.Not much of a confidence in this type of situation really made her restless.
No!She has to save this man.She has to because...she has to pay for what she did in the past.
As Avila's spirit lit up and her eyes brightened,she slowly relaxed and kept treating his wounds in a state of focus.
She carefully cut the layer of his skin and for a few minutes she was done.
She sighed out of relief and carefully bandaged the wound as the man rest up a little.
After bandaging,she grabbed her cloak from her shoulders and swiftly put it in the man's shoulders as it covered his long gray hair and his slender back.And as well as his arms.
Maybe he will get cold in this cold-hard ground.
The man who was shocked at her action suddenly flinched.He looked at her confused and somewhat touched by her kind behavior.
Wait.touched?by what?she just put her cloak in his shoulders and nothing else .How could he be touched?
The man was lying in his thought though.He was afraid that he will naturally gave in,in her warmth and gradually get interested of her but it was obvious that he already is.
"You."The man spoke as Avila hummed at him as her response.She waited for what he was gonna say.But nothing came out from his mouth.
Being smart for the first time...
[Avila be like:I am always smart!Don't judge me!]
Avila understood well what he was going to ask her.
She smiled making the man frantically shocked.
Is this girl mocking him now behind his back?
"Even though you almost killed me earlier...I will still save you because every person deserves a chance."Avila explained with a wide smile in her face.Her smile was somewhat faint like it was both sad and happy.
Her eyebrows arched into a curved line.Her smile was beautiful yet painful in some way that there was something more meaning to it.
He looked at her confuse and speechless but for a few seconds,he suddenly spoke that made Avila jolt.
"I am a bad person and you already know it.You'll regret this,one day,little lady~"He sneered creepily as a chill sent shivers down Avila's spine.
Maybe it was true that Avila sense something bad will happen to her in the future for saving this man but she didn't regret her action.Or will she?
