She felt like she was being followed. She turned quickly to see if anyone was present, assuring herself there was no cause for unnecessary worry. She quickened her steps upon hearing her mother's voice. She breathed a sigh of relief and whispered a quick "Thank God" before turning to her mother. "Why were you late?" She sighed, saying she had to finish her assignment. Her mother smiled and put an arm around her shoulders, “Let's get going, it's getting late.” With that, they headed home together. But if we lose her because of your way, I'm going to block you.' Lucas was taken aback. 'Seriously, Rex? That's a bit harsh.' 'She's my mate and you're an i***t. If you lose her, you'll suffer the repercussions. With that, Lucas left, ensuring Jessie had reached home.
