BRING HIM TO ME

856 Words
Leo’s POV As I sat on the swivel chair, I got a magnificent view of the high skyscrapers and their lights. I closed my eyes and locked my jaw. After many years, today is the first time I have not gone out to have a drink at night., I am here and remember what happened with a woman whose name I don't even know. "Hmm..." When I recalled her small groan, I opened my eyes wide. My hair was standing on end, so I swallowed. I also took a glance at my pants, and I'm glad my ‘soldier’ didn't wake up. Is she a witch or something? I’ve never tasted a feeling like this since I broke up with Tracy. When there was a knock on my door, I looked up. I whirled in my swivel chair and faced the door. "Come in." When the door opened, I found my personal assistant Mark standing there with a document in his hand. I folded my two hands and put my elbow on the desk, my gaze fixed on the papers. Mark bowed and handed me the document he was carrying. "Sir, here is the information I gathered on the people you asked me for." I took it and placed it on my desk. I knew she was the person I was seeking for as soon as I scanned the paper with a picture of her with it. For reasons I don't understand, something leaped in my heart. "Madeleine Waston, she graduated from National Economic University, one of our country's most prestigious colleges. For that reason, she immediately secured a job as the editor of a financial magazine named CHALLENGE." He paused. Madeleine. I repeated the name over and over in my mind. "Continue." “She comes from a single-parent family. Her mother resides in the countryside. She has a sister who also lives in this city. She doesn't associate with many people, although she had a romantic relationship with Raven Grey, her colleague." "Has this magazine, CHALLENGE, published any negative comments about our company??" I didn’t look up and just kept my eyes on the paper, “or any comments on me?” "So far, no. There are only a few articles analyzing our group's financial results. Although they’ve tried to make an exclusive interview with you, but were declined by Mr. Lucas Hopkins." I raised my eyebrow. My tyrant father, he’s such a loyal defender of honor. I promptly navigated to the info of her ex-boyfriend. When I saw the man's face, my expression darkened even more. "However, there is rumor that he had a connection with their supervisor, who is already married." That was the last thing Mark said to me. When Madeleine’s drunken face flashbacked to me, there was a fire that lived inside my body. "This guy seemed to be overconfident in himself whentoying with women. I’m curious what this man has?" My voice is calm, yet I can hear how my teeth sounded because I was furious at the guy who didn't even hurt me. Why am I angry anyway? Mark feigned a cough, and I saw how he backed away, fearful that I might also release my rage on him. "What do you believe is the appropriate course of action for a guy who has mistreated a woman?" I didn't make an expression when I peered at the person in front of me. "Uh,what do you want to tell, sir?" He is likewise puzzled as to what I'm up to. I also don't understand why I can't get the heat out of my mind. I'm disgusted by Rayven, and every time I think about him, I remember Madeleine's face. And maybe Tracy’s face. "I just assumed there were certain individuals who needed to be given a lesson." "Uhm… If it's okay with you, may I know who that woman is in your life?" He was still reluctant at first, but he didn't appear to be able to deal with the interest that arose as a result of my abrupt attitude. "I've never seen you be overly concerned about a woman." I swiveled in my swivel chair once again, this time facing the towers. I pondered his question since I, too, didn't know the answer. Why am I worried about Madeleine? I didn't respond to his query. I forced myself to consider what might be done to Raven. Perhaps I was in a mess and felt sorry for Madeleine. That's right. I just feel sad for her because I see myself in her, for no other reason. Mark remained silent as well, but I never lost sight of my resolve to avenge Madeleine. "Bring him over here." In the midst of the stillness, I spoke out. "...Sir?" "Bring him to me, Rayven Gray." "Sir, yes —-" “But… I don't want things to be simple. I'd want you to drag him—- bring him to me if possible, let him crawl." Every emphasis on my order is picked up on. Raven Grey, you will get the punishment you deserve from me. Her eyes... You are not deserving of them.
