"No Dad, I'm not going to do that." Miguel refused the offer instantly. "It is a must for you to do it because we've already picked a bride." Miranda (Miguel's Mum) made it known to him and climbed down the stairs. He stared at them in surprise. "You can't possibly do that. I'm not ready to get married, and I also have a girlfriend who I'm willing to get married to, but not now." "That doesn't matter now, the preparation has already been done. You can't keep promising us about bringing a bride, at the end of the day nothing will show forth." Miranda stated, narrowing her brows into his. "I didn't bring a bride just because there is nothing like marriage for now. Firstly, you guys broke the news of me going bankrupt, and now you are forcing a woman on me. Come on, I am a full-grown adult who can decide on his own," Miguel lamented sadly. "There is nothing you can do about it," Thompson assured him. He raised his head. "Oh, if that is the case, then watch me do what I want to do." He yelled at them and ran upstairs. "Why is he proving stubborn? He doesn't behave like that at all." Thompson asked angrily. "I don't think this is the right thing to do, we've done enough already." Miranda said in a lower tone, Thompson looked at her strangely. "That was the same way we got married. Whether it is right or wrong, all I want him to do is to get married to that lady." Thompson stated and walked away. Miranda sat on the sofa with mixed feelings. Linda sat in front of the mirror combing her hair with a frown on her face. The marriage was imposed on her, but there was nothing she could do than to accept her fate. She looked into the mirror with a straight sad face. "This is not the marriage I dreamed of, I wished to see myself getting married in a grand style. All my wishes, imaginations and dreams crumbled before my own eyes and I could do nothing about it." Linda yelled out in tears. Lily, who was standing beside the door alongside her mother, laughed out. "You have no right to dream big, they should be done by me because your life is in our hands, and we can do whatever we like to it." Lily blurted and laughed out. "She is so stupid to think her dream will ever come to reality. Never, I would never allow that to happen right before my eyes." Sofia shouted bluntly at her. Linda couldn't help but to cry out loud. "Look, there is no time for tears, you need to get yourself ready for your poor husband. You guys really fit each other, you are miserable while he is very poor." "Yes, get yourself ready in the next ten minutes and make sure no single tear should be spotted on your face." Sofia gave out warnings. "And also make sure you smile happily. Our in-laws would not marry a sad lady as their bride." Lily added, and scrutinized her from head to toe. Anger overwhelmed her immediately. "Why are you wearing this expensive jewel? The clothes you wore are way too expensive." Lily complained bitterly. "It doesn't sit well with me either, but I can't do anything about it because the in-laws brought everything specifically for her to wear on the wedding day." Sofia explained with her deadly glares, not leaving Linda. "I need to leave mum, I can't even look at her for too long. She irritates me." Lily complained and walked out of the room. "That aside, they must not know you are Linda, your new name is Lily. In a few hours, you will be with your wretched husband," Sofia reminded and scoffed before walking away also. Linda buried her face in her palms and wept bitterly. "Is this how I'm going to live my life forever?." She questioned in a mutter. The room was decorated beautifully, the priest had arrived, everything was set, even Linda had climbed down the stairs, but there was a frown on their faces because the groom hadn't arrived. They had been waiting for over thirty minutes. "What's happening, Mr Thompson?" George asked, when moving closer to him. "He didn't answer my calls. Maybe he is in a meeting, but I will call his PA to find out why he is late." He replied in a lower tone. "That's fine." George said, Mr Thompson walked out and began to dial Miguel's line while pacing to and fro in the compound. After several rings, he finally picked up. "Where are you?" He asked in a rush. "I'm in my room chilling." Miguel's reply shocked him. "You have a wedding to attend as a groom, so why are you still in your room?" "Don't you get it Dad, I am not ready to get married now. Wait, did you really think I was joking when I said that? Well, if you've already made the preparations, then look for an alternative to it because I'm not going to step out of this room." He blurted out in an angry tone. Mr Thompson began to get angry, but tried so hard to calm himself for now. "I now understand you don't want a marriage. The only thing I want from you now is to just attend the marriage and leave afterward." "That's not going to be possible. I'm off Dad." Miguel refused and hung up the call. "Gosh, what should I say to them?" He muttered underneath his breath. After a few minutes of thinking he decided to go in. All eyes fell on him as the door opened. "I'm sorry, the groom won't be attending the wedding." He broke the news, and everyone was shocked.
